DWP employment waiting list

Has anyone heard anything or been posted for IRC 62644, Northwest (Cheshire, Halton & Warrington)? I know a few have received a preference sheet via email - have you heard anything since..?
Sooo, let the day begin - will we hear anything, or will we be dissapointed again at 5pm?
It's good to find someone else in the same boat as me. I, too, am waiting to hear regarding 62644.
The deadline for sending in your preferred location sheet was this past Friday, the 13th, so they'll have everyone's info now and personally, I'm expecting to hear something this week - if not then next week, as there's nothing else left to do or anything to delay proceedings. They now have everything they need.0 -
Am sssssooooooooo sick of the DWP recruitment process it seems rather silly to me, i applied for IRC61505 essex area and had my interview on 4th Aug. I passed my interview and got my CRB back on 30th Aug and my pre- recruitment checks were completed by the end of Sept. I have been told the same as every1 else about the recruitment freeze and have sat waiting it out and phoning every couple of weeks to get an update.
On friday however i looked on the DWP website and the are advertising for IRC64225 in the same areas i am waiting for yet i was told they have 127 people on the merit list for this area so why are they still re - advertising if they have sooooooooo many people waitng on the merit list???? I phoned the DWP and asked about this and they said they couldn't explain this they could only tell me that my app had been passed onto the recruitment team for the Essex area on 30-10-09,don't know what took so long to pass it on. Am becoming very disheartened by the whole process now.
Hope others are having more luck.0 -
Hi Everyone,
Long time lurker, but first time poster. Had the phone call for IRC 61715 (Thames Valley) this morning, which I've accepted. So just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributed to this message board for encouragement, and thanks to those who gave advice on how to handle the interview questions.
Best of luck to those still waiting

Also a lurker for some time but just noticed DMWright you have applied for the same IRC as me, 61505 so thought i'd say hello. I have been told I am joint 28th on the merit list but other than that I probably won't hear anything until end of Nov. Just as frustrated as you to then see EO and AO posts offered for the JCs i've applied for. I am out of work and very keen to start but can't afford to keep waiting too long..... Keep everything crossed it won't be too long!

As for can they do it? Thats up to you as to whether you play the game. You could try speaking to someone more senior, do I recall that you originally applied for somewhere other than Cardiff? Is that where they are now saying you will go?
Hi sammy.
Yeh, the lady I spoke mentioned something about the Manager re-shuffling after a meeting.
I wasn't happy with being posted in Cardiff in the first place as I live in Newport but the post within the N.I team made the thought of all the travelling more bareable.
We had to choose our top 5 locations out of a list of 9 and Cardiff wasn't in my top 5. The correspondence I had all came from Newport BDC until the 'freeze'. My contacts then told me "I no longer deal with this IRC....blah blah blah".
The only consolation I guess is the new office is better for me location wise as it's closer to the train station.
I know I should feel grateful for getting offered a job but I can't help but feel like I've been slapped in the face.
As for 'playing the game', what do you mean ?0 -

Hello Everyone ,
I have been waiting for what seems an eternity to hear something about my position as an AO iIRC60739 in Nottingham. I got a letter saying that I was successful and would be placed on the waiting list, at the beggining of July about 2 weeks after my tests and interview. After not getting much info out of Newcastle for the past few months, out of the blue, I had an answering machine message from someone from the JCP on Fri 13/11 saying that they needed to talk to me just to see if I was still interested in the position and also to find out my current circumstances. Unable to get through to them on Friday I got through to them this morning, and they asked me those questions. The lady couldn't advise me on where I was on the list, how long it would take for me to get a start date. All she said was that they needed to contact everyone on the list to see who was still interested and also see how many positions that they had available. She said that there wasn't many openings left though.
I really don't know what to think....by now I would have expected to have had a call with a start date. Do you think that I have missed my chance or is this just procedure? Has anyone from Nottingham had any calls recently?

Well, it doesnt sound so good - Someone I know who also applied and received the preference sheet for 62644 called them today. They apparently sounded vague - said she may not hear anything for a few weeks yet. When asked whether there are positions available for the area she selected - she said " well, I wouldnt like to say at this point"
Oh god, I like you was really counting on hearing something this week. and now it wont be for a few weeksand even then, there may not be positions in the area we selected/
Did you apply for an EO or AO position?0 -

Hi sammy.
As for 'playing the game', what do you mean ?
I just meant in relation to you asking if they could do that, its either go along with the change or tell them to beggar off which given the shambles you've put up with I bet you would love to have done, it makes me cross as whether a mistake had been made or not they should have made the decision to live with it or at least offer the chance of a change only if it suited people better. They made the mistake not you and now you are the one whose p'ed off and paying for their c**k up!"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
