IRC60076 Birmingham
Shock horror!!!! Got a letter asking me if I am still interested. If so, to fill in form and sign..
I have just posted it.
To think all along I have been waiting for the call in another IRC because I had given up hope with 60076, now I have 2 calls to wait for!
I think the freeze has definitely thawed.
I know I still have to wait but at least the wait doesn't seem too long.
That's great news, well done to you!
I have applied for IRC 62504 Birmingham EO, last time I called I was 68th on the merit list lol.
Maybe you can make some enquiries when you get into the DWP and let us know what's happening - only joking
All the best!

Ah sorry to hear that mate - you know with these assessment centres alot depends on who interviews you. The first time i applied for a job a the DWP for another AO position the interview was awful and so i wasnt surprised when i was unsuccessful. however after that I applied for an EO and managed to be successful for that so the person interviewing you can really influence whether you're successful or not.
I do see however from your posts that you have a role now (are you not enjoying it?)- where are you based if you dont mind me asking?
Based in London0 -
Do all new employees at JC+ have training? It's just that nothing was mentioned on the phone. All she said was that I am to go to my office at 9.30a.m and ask for the manager.
Last night I lay awake worrying that I had got the details wrong on the phone lol. First she said I was placed in Peterborough, then Wisbech....Do u think they will send a letter out to me confirming the details? If not what should I do to make sure I have everything down correctly?0 -
Just got my CRB back. Does this mean anything in terms of progress?0

There is loads of work shadowing, training, and e-learning. Once you report to your manager you should be given details of training etc. You might even receieve a letter, districts do things differently.0 -
Guess what guys......I GOT THE CALL  Can u believe it?! I can't! I got the call at 4.55 p.m and when I was pretty much down in the dumps and giving up!! I'm sooooo happy.:j
I was told that it will only be for year and perhaps less or more depending on the economic situation. I don't really care though. I just want a job and I can start looking for internal positions etc once i'm in!!0 -

Incredibly, they have just phoned me to offer me the position! I can't believe it!
I have accepted and start on Tuesday!
Its 20 hrs a week for 3-6 months, then full time after that - Permanent.
A nice gentle intro for someone who hasn't worked for 18 years!
Starting salary £16,000 pro rata with uniform provided, twice yearly bonuses, 20% discount at their stores, 6 weeks holidays.
The beers are chilling already - yay!
WELL DONE HEATHER!!!!!!!!
They must have had a sense of humour after all!!

Firstly congrats to Heather, well done :T
Well lo and behold today I receive a letter from DWP, it confirmed what I had been told about been 1st on the merit list but also confirmed once and for all that there is now no jobs for this IRC and that I will now remain top of the waiting list until the 27th Feb 2010 after which time my details will be removed from DWP records. There was no explanations as to how or why this had happened even though I already knew why.
Congratulations to everyone who got the CALL!!
Hi Sparky
After reading your post cannot believe it!!
Dont want to bring the mood down, after the good news people have had, but last week I received an email asking for preferred locations
Ashton U Lyne, Hyde, Stalybridge, Stockport, Oldham, Middleton
Prestwich, Heywood, Ashton in Makerfield, Prestwich, Bolton, Bury, Farnworth Wigan, Leigh, Atherton, I thought I was getting somewhere? yesterday I rang the district office and was told "I am working on that IRC at the moment, all your checks are complete, the only problem is there are no vacancies at any of the locations apart from Middleton" so anyone waiting on this IRC Middleton should be one of your choices, and yet DWP are advertising the same locations again!!
I was told the new vacancies are for a project in the new year, the lady did say though that the people on lists would be placed first, but it looks like the new year for me!! Sorry for the bad news!!0
