I would take the original job, a lot less stressful than dealing with the general public all day everyday.

well the plot thickens, i have just had a call from a lovely lady called Sue, who has given me a choice of working @cavendish court as accepted yesterday, or revert back to the original offer of employer engagement, but she has told me exactly what the position entails and is basically a new job role, and id not just be in the back room calling ppl, but id be out and about, doing promotional events, information giving, and cud be in sheffield one day then rotherham the next etc, it wud be a small team, of about 4 including my manager and Sue who called me, and get this, if it is a remote part of South Yorkshire and no1 driving, i can book the DWP works car and take that, im so confused now tho coz i dont know what to do, she said the training wud pretty much be the same, but it wud mean that i am in there at the start of this new venture and help to build it up, im gob smacked, got to let her know later today, she seems really nice too, so its gone from no dwp job, to 2 now lol
Sounds interesting to me, wouldnt mind that role myself, out and about giving out info from the DWP, shame they dont give us some info :rotfl:like when i am likely to start working for them, i'm supposed to be in the summer intake lol. Seriously though, it sounds quite varied doesnt it? its probably more long term as well. So Sweets, decisions, decisions...
  • yeah thats just it she cant guarentee it, but i kinda get the feeling as its new it might be here and then gone, or it might lead to other insentives as sue has worked for dwp for yrs but now she working on this, i dont know what to do, what a position to be in when there 100's still waiting for 1 job

Is there any one you can speak to to discuss it? It would be a risk but like they say just because you work in one area doesn't mean you can't move to another after the 18 months.

Well I rang, glad I did! Lovely lady explained what was happening. Somehow I have moved up 20 places! She said I could even get a call later today!! :j

Go for the 1st job then, if you have a little one to get back for you dont want to be stuck on motorways till all hours do you? when it comes down to it, we just want a job, 9-5 would be nice, think of the other stuff you have to fit in as well, like, shopping, cooking, cleaning, ironing and looking after your daughter, a job in it self (but money is crap lol) seriously though, if its going to be stressful take the first offer. Lovely to have the choice though :j
