Hope its not another of those ghastly online Sift tests  I have brought up four children and so EO duties should be a cakewalk in comparison :rotfl:
Will pm you with my email, Mandie. Thank you so much
Good luck with it and let us know how you get on0 -

I was told I had passed my E.O interview back in June. I waited 6 months for a start date and location and have now been informed that they have made an error. They now want to offer me an A.O position that is paying nearly £6,000 less (without so much as an apology for wasting half a year of my time).
I am now busy searching for another job whilst writing a letter of complaint to D.W.P0 -
hi everyone. sorry i not been on much but had to buy new computer. my training has gone well and my last day tomorrow before i go to my job centre on tuesday. do you think it will be really cheeky to ask if i can finish at 4.30 on friday. got a chance to go and see my dad and kids for the weekend. do you think its worth asking or just leave it and get later train. dont know what to do.
I remember when i had my interview they said the hours were 9-5 but if you get in early some days and leave later on others there would be some flexibility if you needed to leave early if some notice was given, dont know if all depts are like that but its worth asking. Best of luck once again for tomorrow.0 -

I went for EO first and wasnt successful (i wasnt prepared enough as i wasnt fully aware it was competency based), then i had AO interview 2 weeks later and was asked pretty much the same questions but less probing (ie, less questions from the interviewers after my response). Its the same competencies at a higher level. If you go on the dwp site there is a really good link which covers EVERYTHING they are looking for in great detail. A colleague showed me it today. I also emailed myself something from work. If you want heather i can email you it...if you pm me your email address xx
I had 5 competency based questions, and one was about leading and the other about managing, but I just used examples from life experiences I have had, not necessarily job related. I thought the interview was quite hard but then I was placed 3rd on the merit list so I think I read too much in to it....just go for it Heather what do you have to lose....Jx0 -

Thanks for that! I thought that the AO interview was hard, but then I hadn't been in that situation for 18 years and didn't know what to expect. Now, armed with all the fantastic information and help from here "forewarned is forearmed" lol! As you so rightly say, I have nothing to lose.............!0 -
Hi,
Just some advice please. i am starting at the job centre 23rd november in barnsley. I was just wondering if anyone knows when i would recieve my first wage? am i correct in thinking that dwp pay the last day of every month? ifr so would in have to wait until the end of December?
I am so excited to start the job and find out exactly what my role will be. Just worrying a little as i could do with a little money for xmas presents etc.
Thankyou in advance for any help.0 -

Hey! I was asked on my first day if i had any holidays i needed to take so yeah, just tell them on your first day or as soon as you can. They have to grant holidays booked before confirmation of start date. In regards to the pay....you probably wouldnt be due a pay til December, however you can get an advance on your december pay (for example you could ask for a portion of your wage due last day in December and you would recieve it on the 15th). xx0 -
hi mandie,
thankyou for your reply, i shall let them know on my 1st day then, glad it should be ok as i cant wait to go o holiday!!
also i will have to look into the pay situation when i get started then as it would be really helpful to get a fraction of my wage mid december, would just be a great help and stop all the worrying.
panicking at the moment as i moved into a rented house with my boyfriend only 2 months ago, them my temp job ended and he ended up temporarily laid off for 4 weeks.. Luckily i found temp work until my start date and he is back at work monday. It has ledt us struggling a little though hence i havnt bought any xmas prezzies!!!
thanks for you advice and sorry to go on and on about my situation lol!!0
