60370 progress update: one of my references has been contacted. Dunno why they want to, should have been easier for them to verify my employment history than Slitty's but they didn't check hers. Oh well.
Had a second interview today as well. Looks like I won't actually make it to 6 months unemployed.0 -
i had a call today offering me a start date of 30th november irc 61492. i should be grateful but the shine has gone since i applied back in june for this irc. thought i would just share some good news with everyone. this irc was affected by the freeze but it now seems to have lifted at least in the west mids area. fingers crossed for everyone still waiting and thanks for all the support this thread has provided, not only for me but for everyone else still waiting. keep haning in there.
HURRAH! WELL DONE! Really happy for you! :j0 -

The phrase "no chance" springs to mind. The AOs in our office were on the desks signing people on in Week 2.
After a few days shadowing you will just want to get on with it.0 -

I'm so sorry, I know how hopeful you were that you would get the call.
I don't know for sure but the role you've turned down is probably something much admired by those who deal with the public on the frontline! It'll be around ringing and taking calls from employers, making sure they know about things like Work Trial and other incentives, trying to get them to place vacancies with JC+, kind of a marketing job.
Hope that helps. If its not your thing then its not your thing, best of luck for the future.

Just in case anyone is wondering, Mandie is not talking about security guards that you'll see in the Jobcentre but Information security staff emplyed by Jobcentre Plus"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

Well i had my first day, it was pretty good. There were 9 of us at the induction event (both AO's and EO's). should have been 10 but one inconsiderate person didnt turn up. Knowing how desperate some ppl are waiting for the call that made me very angry, but hey! We went thru policies, procedures etc. We had an AO come and tell us about there day to day job and what to expect. We got told of all the different job roles we might be doing (apparently AO is just the level you are at....your jobs could all vary!) We also had one of the security guys talking us thru system security, personal security etc, and he told us some stories about things employees had done etc that got them in trouble (changing cust details so that payments went into there own account lol.....using someone elses smart card to get sensitive data etc etc) there are some dodgy ppl out there lol!
Anyway all in all it went pretty well, and i start at my local jobcentre tomorrow. We were told we do have to go to a further 3 training sessions, each lasting 2-3 days...and these will happen in the next few months. Until those are completed we will be doing job-shadowing!
Victoria....how did u find your first day in Leven? xx
awww glad u had a good day, i agree tho u will prob be itching to just get on with it b4 long im sure xx0 -
Wish I would get the call, I'm desperate!
So late October could turn into late November, what are they like!0
