Yes. I've had some AO interviews in London recently. I heard I'd been successful on one of them within 5 days (:eek:). Haven't heard about the others yet.

Hi All I have just got off the phone to DWP and spoke to another person who, to be fair, was quite helpful. He confirmed that I was 20 on the merit list and that nobody had been posted from the Cornwall recruitment excercise on the 28th Feb. This is reassuring in one way as I was feeling that I was missing the boat - but still frustrating in another as the waiting is killing me! I have an appointment at the Jobcentre tomorrow and will let them know the outcome of this phone call today. He did say that they are conducting checks in a differnet way now and do not write to current or previous employer as all this information would do is confirm that I did work for the company. Instead they contact HM Revenue and Customs? I don't understand what they could tell the DWP though. Never mind I live in hope and am still applying for other jobs.

Yeah, I recieved the same news. Was just wondering if anyone knew how long the pre-employment checks took?

Imagine you live to a very old age, then double it.

Which one did you go for? Mine was central district.

Lol. See now I don't know if I should continue my job search or not. I don't want to get overly excited.

Yes mine was also central district. After reading comments on here, I'd hate to think there was also a waiting list for that.

My CRB check was completed in about 12 days ... my reference checks have taken a little longer as they magaged to misplace my CRB certificate. all completed now and just waiting for a start date as my offer letter did not state i would be put on to a waiting list.

I think they were recruiting 140 posts in that exercise so there's a good chance of an immediate job. Lol, well, I say 'immediate'. Within this year.

I think I may just ring them up. I keep getting invitations to partake in other selection tests.
It's so hard to get through to them though!
