DWP employment waiting list
Comments

I'm soooo cheesed off at the moment. I was told a few weeks ago that I am 2nd on the waiting list, I called this morning and I am now 25th!!!! I was apparently never 2nd. No, it wasn't wishful thinking, I was not mistaken, the same person I spoke to today told me that I was 2nd. :-( What a bummer.
I haven't applied for another job since I was told that [STRIKE]crap [/STRIKE]info as I thought that my waiting would be very short. I'm now going to apply desperately again!! What a roller coaster ride!!0 -
I got offered a start date :j
I sat the tests and had an interview all on the 28th March. I got a successful letter with no mention of a waiting list on the 14th April. Disclosure was sent 28th April. They called 1st May but I was out. So I phoned today and was asked if disclosure comes through could I start 11th May. If the disclosure has not arrived I have to call Friday and they will offer me another start date this month. I must have the fastest recruitment story on here.
I hope everyone else who is waiting gets a start date soon. We can all have a virtual beer together then :beer:0 -

LOl you certainly are the fastest! Looks like they really need you! Well done and Congrats! - Hope you enjoy your post and don't forget us all here on MSE!
Is it training on the 11th or straight start into work?0 -
It will be training for a good few weeks. I cannot remember how long classroom based and then on the job training. I vaguely remember something being mentioned at the interview
The next date I am offered will be the next time they get together a group for training. Disclosure Scotland are working on my application as of 29th. I have disclosures so I am hoping it might speed things up for me.
Hope this means the recruitment process is speeding up for everyone. It certainly seems like they need the staff.0 -
Where are in the county are you, suseh97?
I will be starting on Monday 11th ... no mention of how long or where the training is. I was told I will find out on Monday0 -
I has a interview on the Saturday 26th April, i was told the postion i went for was for a AO Band C job which i know is a EO position. They told me it was for a position as a Personal Adviser not sure what band this is. But i rang the recruiter the next couple of days to be told that i was unsuccessful on that occassion. Well on the same day i recieved another letter stating i was to come for another interview the following Wednesday. Now i knew i had not applied for this position, but as it turns out i was told it was the same job but for a Band B AO. Anyway i was told today that i was successful at the interview and i had to wait for my Pre-employment checks to sorted out first before getting a start date. I have been offered a job with my sister working for her salon as a Senior Hair stylist. Do you think i should take it or wait?
Please help0 -

I am in Renfrewshire, Scotland. Where are you?
I did have another interview with DWP in another area and they said they had no idea about training. So guess every jobcentre is different. Good luck for Monday :T0 -
I took my Literacy and Numeracy tests on the morning on 16th February. I was immediately told that I had passed both tests and invited for an interview that same afternoon. Prior to the interview I completed a CRB form.
I then attended the interview later that afternoon, 16th February.
I then had a short telephone interview around 1 week later, so on or around 23rd February - I have no idea what this was all about! I was only asked one question which seemed to be exactly one of the questions that I was asked during my interview on 16th Feb.
The next thing that happened was that I received a letter dated 12th March confirming that I was successful and that they are undertaking pre-recruitment checks.
My CRB arrived by post a few days later and I telephoned DWP to ask if the process was then complete. They said that as the CRB was sent to me, I had to send it to Newcastle myself. I did that immediately. My referees were then contacted around 20th April and then responded immediately.
Then on 1st May, I was telephoned and offered the EO position to start immediately.
I have telephoned DWP a few times during this process to find out what is going on and each time they seem to know nothing. However, despite the fact that it has been soooooo slow, I am happy that I have had no problems and am looking forward to working.
If anyone would like to know anything from me then just ask.
So they must be comeing back to people fast.0 -
