If your employment history checks out with hmrc then your personal references won't be contacted. Hope that helps.

Ah ok! I've just had a call from the DWP to say that CRB Disclosure have said they can't process the application as my driving licence number is wrong!!! God knows why, so I've read it out again and fingers crossed it's all ok.

Woohhooo!!!! so I have been in complete limbo for the past 3 weeks now, having been told my IRC (61890 - South West Wales district) was no longer on the system by Newcastle and after many phone calls in which I did get through and was told they would research the issue and call me back ( this happened 4 times!!!!) they never did.... so I sent an email, and got this reply....

Thank-you for your email regarding the exercise you recently applied for.

Firstly I must apologise for the inaccurate information you have received from Employee Services Resourcing. This exercise is still live and I can confirm that you are 9th on the merit list.

Firstly I should explain that whilst Resourcing administers selection activity on behalf of Jobcentre Plus, any decision to offer a successful candidate a post is made by the business area. Currently Jobcentre Plus are reviewing their staffing requirements across this region; they have advised that they expect this process to be complete by the end of October. Unfortunately, until we receive further information from Jobcentre Plus, we are unable to post successful candidates from this selection exercise.

Once further information is received we hope to begin posting successful candidates in merit order.

In the meantime if you have any further enquiries please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards

I knew about the freeze, but it is reassuring to know my IRC is still there and I am number 9 on the merit list.... If anyone, no matter what part of the country you are, has any questions, i recommend you email this person, she took a day to get back to me RESOURCING.CUSTOMERSERVICES@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK

p.s Thankyou f.dennis for bringing this email address to our attention.

that sounds really promising! you must be in one of the areas that are badly affected by the freeze just now, as most ppl who have had the call were much lower on the merit list (i was 32nd on the list in my area when i got the call). Good luck and hope it comes soon xx

This is how confusing the DWP is. Yesterday I was told I was number 33 on merit list, and that the freeze is still on until the end of the month. I have today received this email.

Unfortunately I an unable to tell you where abouts you are on the merit
list, but your papers have been passed to the business and yes the
freeze has been lifted so all that you can do now is wait for the
business to contact you.

Regards

Stephen

What area are you in?

Please say West Yorkshire!

Thanks
• Its been quiet in here today, and no one posting to say theyve had "the call" :( I was hoping to see some more today before the weekend x
