Hi All,

Newcastle tell me they are still confirming my references, (there fault as they did not send return details to them).

However, since I sent complaint to Louise I got a call from Recruitment advising of the job centres taking on in my chosen area and asked which ones I would work at. When advising them, they told me that they would be in touch in 2 weeks.

Does this mean my refs are through now and I will get start date in 2 weeks?

Any advice/info would be great

Quick question re. merit lists...

Does your position on the merit list go up once your CRB check has been completed? Or is that position the one you're likely to stay at?

It's the position you will stay at until people get placed and then your position will go up the list until it's your turn for 'the call'.

Three reasons you'll go up the merit list

1) Some people have already been posted above you
2) Some people have dropped out
3) Some people have failed the CRB checks

ive got my interview tomorrow but reading all the posts about how long you have to wait to actually get into the job is putting me off lol, i really wanted a job before christmas

Does anyone have a phone number that actually gets answered, (the one i have been trying either rings out or is engaged) i would like to phone and at least find out where I am on these merit lists.
