Well, had confirmation on Friday that I'll be getting a second interview for the non-DWP job I want :j. Will probably be sometime late in the week coming. I'm one of 4 people, so it's time to really sell myself!0

Just out of interest -
once someone has been successful for an IRC have any of you subsequently gone for interviews for other IRC areas?
I've had my success letter for one IRC a few weeks ago and then received an email on Friday morning asking me to interview for another.
Any advice?

Yes - I went for 6 interviews and my wife went for 4. We were successful in all of them (EO and AO posts). So, go for it.0 -
That's awful! I really hope you get it all sorted!Luck you. They wrote to say they could not get hold of my refs so could not offer me a thing! I had called gazzillions of times to change refs addresses. Called today, after waiting to get through forever, asked them to confirm refs they have in their system...... guess whta.... no one updated it :mad::mad::mad::mad:
Lady dealing with it is off on holiday till next week. Needless to say, I have sent in a very suitable complaint to just about every email on DWP!!!
I really hope anrd pray it get's sorted. To think I was in a safe position on the merit list.:mad::mad::mad:
Congratulations to you though. Enjoy!

Oh No! I had to change my referees too - I haven't worked for years (been bringing up my kids on my own) and discovered that both the folk I had put forward were dead  I also phoned with alternative names and the girl assured me that she had made a note of this. Let me know what happens with your situation please in case I have to do the same as you. Hope you hear back soon with positive news - being on the merit list and then finding they are going no further is awful. Fingers crossed for you.

Hi everyone,
I recently went for an Interview and Assessment exercise for an Admin Officer post with the dwp.Ive since recieved a letter to say ive been successful and ive been put on a waiting list..in the interview i was told that the posts were for last week in feb there was no mention of any waiting list?? Just wondering if anyones had any expierence of this? I contacted the dwp who informed me the waiting list is for up to 6 months and she could not give me any idea of when i would be contacted just that they take 10 people a time from the waiting list to fill posts at that time.Ive also recieved a few days after a form to fill in for them to do police checks..does this mean they are not far from offering me a job?
Cheers
Hiya
In regards to above, i understand your frustration, what the DWP seem to do is interview say for example about 50 people for 3 jobs and once these applicants have taken up the job, the remainder of the successful applicants are placed on a waiting list - the waiting list normally is for 12 months, therefore any jobs that become available, the wait list is then used. They also do criminal record checks and check prev employers details etc, no doubt they have already asked you for your passport and birth cert and a recent photograph?! - reason i know this?? i was on the wait list for an Admin Officers job and got the job in 3 months - lasted 8 years there.
If i were you, i would call and find out how far down you are on the wait list etc.
Cheers

Just wanted to wish all who start today at the DWP like myself good luck.
Also fingers cross for lots of phone calls to those still waiting on "the call" and successful interviews for those who have given up and are seeking elsewhere.
Fingers crossed for you all.
Right my bed is calling but I've got pack lunches to make before I get there.
I'm so nervous..........(and still don't know what I'm wearing).0 -
