  • Hello all, i have been snooping on this topic for a while but never posted.

Did anyone else apply for the E/O Job : IRC62876 (North West (Lancs))

I thought i had waffled to much in the interview however i recieved a success later (although a waiting list one) yesterday

I have to be honest i wasnt aware of the "freeze" so i am now a bit worried.

    A couple of questions?
    1. Has anyone else been sucsessful for this role? If So were you waiting list or offerred a job?
    2. How much Notice do they give you of a start date, as i have to give 4 weeks notice to the job i am currently in. I dont want to hand in my notice and then have a gap in employment (income)
    3. Will they contact my current references (one being my employer) before i get a job offer. I havent told my current bosses and would prefer to tell them myself rather than create a issue. (I am on a temp contract but with no fixed term as it is grant funded)

    Thanks
    Bufty

Did you not get the option of asking them NOT to contact your current employer for a reference? I'm sure I ticked a box stating that both on my application and also, when I attended the interview when we had to fill out a mountain of paperwork.

I'd think they would be understanding if you said you had to give your employer four weeks notice? Or do you have any holidays you could take to cut this time down??!

My boss still hasn't got a clue.... I'm waiting until AFTER payday to tell him. lol

Whats happened? No updates on your training last night or tonight. Was it that bad?

    Hiya!

Well, the literacy/numeracy test is pretty basic really - obvious spelling mistakes and punctuation errors in the literacy test and the numeracy one is mostly adding and subtracting (but there is a percentages part, so brush up on that). You get a calculator and paper/pens supplied anyway but, just in case, take your own!

The interview is very nervewracking, but the interviewers are very pleasant and friendly. I was asked 4 main questions eg. describe a time when you made excellent use of resources; tell me about a time when you gave excellent customer service. If I can help in any other way, then just ask!

Yes I also applied for that post.
You are in for a long wait I think. I also applied for IRC62336 AO and had an interview 24th August. Had success letter 2nd Sept and still waiting for all checks to be completed.
Re IRC62876 I had an interview 6th Oct and have had the success letter and now expect to wait for some time.

When 'the call' comes how much notice do you get?

in my experience, I got call 1 Thurs afternoon asking me to start the next Mon!!
  • Thought I would give you all a giggle! I had to sign on this week and while I was there, my Advisor handed me an Application Form to complete for a job that he thought would suit me. It had spaces at the top for him to fill out on my behalf for the job number and the position, JC+ official stamps, etc. In the "position" box he put "Adminastrative Oficer". Cripes!
