If you have to give notice at your existing job then you will be able to do this, they offer a specific date because they will have arranged training to co-ordinate with start dates which obviously takes time."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Well, I start training on tuesday so it's time to head out and get some smarter looking clothes!(I'm a jeans and tee girl at heart)
A legitimate excuse for clothes shopping - wheeee!:D0 -
I just received an email which sounds hopeful to those for IRC61569 (East of England). I emailed complaining that I had previously been told that I was 69 on the merit list and later told that I was 74. I also asked about the freeze as DWP told me that they hadn't started allocating yet, but someone on this forum for this IRC(twss) was allocated last week who was 46 on the list. Here is the reply:
Thank-you for your email regarding exercise IRC61569.
I can confirm that you are 69th on the merit list and must apologise for any incorrect information you have received.
We have begun to post candidates again, however this is being done in merit order as and when positions arrive.
I am sorry for any confusion that you may have experienced. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Hopefully this is a good sign.0 -
Hey,
What was the email address you used to get that reponse? I might try myself, just a confirmation that the job I've got a successful letter for still actually exists would be quite nice, and I'd be interested to know my place on the merit list too. I take it that it was some kind of complaints email address? I might just use the fact no-one answers the phone as my initial complaint and then probe for more details on merit list ranking etc further down!0 -

I have just spoken to someone named Jeff/Geoff on 0191 2168115, at resourcing, he assures me that the job freeze is still on, nationwide. He stated that they do not know when they will re-commence placements as nothing as yet has been decided, I had the "successful" letter for an EO position in July. But there does not seem to be any consistancy as from the posts on the Forum people are being taken on as I am typing this, can anyone enlighten me.0

Thanks for this, hopefully everyone will hear soon and good luck to you in getting posted.
I'm still waiting for security checks to come back, which is annoying and everyone has seemed to get theirs really quick. How long does it usually take?0 -
