DWP employment waiting list

I wondered if anyone had any information on the complaints procedure about recruitment? I had a reply, which I am really concerned by and am not sure what I should do next. If anyone has any information it would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks.0 -

I have now come across a very good reason for not turning up.
As a lot of you will know my wife and I were interviewed several times at the start of July for various IRCs and were successful.
We are due to start next week (the magic 19 October date). However, for the past 6 weeks my wife has been working as a temp at Wakefield Council and she told them last week that this Friday would be her last day. They said they would be sad to see her go etc but could understand why she wanted a permanent role.
However. today she was told that there have been some internal (dodgy) dealings and they can offer her the job on a full time basis.
She has been offered £18k more than the DWP are paying and it's not an 18 month contract. As you can imagine she will not be turning up for training with the DWP next week.
In theory there should be an opening now for IRC 60540 (West Yorks) but who knows given the freeze.
WOW! thats some difference in salary! Well done to your wife! Thats like a third paycheque coming in..........I can sense that you are all going to have a VERY merry christmas! :beer:0 -

Thanks very much, I've tried by telephone and now email..but I was wondering about any further/formal complaints procedures (much as I really, really didn't/don't want to go down that road). I've essentially been (I think) fobbed off, and much as the person was polite enough...it felt like a brick wall..and that there was no concern on their part (and that is after weeks of waiting).
Counterfeit...wow. Amazing difference in salary! Congratulations. Great news.0 -
Congrats to your wife and family!! I love it when great things like this happen. Wish her the best for the future for me and everyone on this forum! :j
Of course, the irony is that if the DWP were at all organised we would have started work ages ago and this opportunity would have passed her by.
So, I for one want to start a campaign to make the DWP work even more slowly.
Only kidding:rotfl:0 -

We will have gone from both out of work and on benefits to having a combined salary of £60k - that's pretty unbelievable to be honest and we are so chuffed at being able to give the kids a good Christmas and look forward to a holiday next year (first since 2006).0 -

Thats a very good point actually. I know that I have only been looking half-heartedly for other jobs after receiving the legendary "success" letter and who can tell if I would have managed to secure alternative employment had I really been trying...........! Anyway, the DWP's loss is Wakefield Council's gain. Hurrah!!!!!!:j0
