DWP employment waiting list

  • I'm trying to not get too excited at the minute, as it's probably nothing, but I went out this afternoon and wasn't back until about 6:30PM... there was a message left for me on the phone, it was a Geordie lad saying he was phoning from Newcastle regarding the DWP job I'd applied for and to call him back...

Now, does this sound like it's THE CALL... or probably just nothing?

I had interviews both on the 7th and 9th of September, so it's been about a month now, references were sent over two weeks ago for both, etc.

I can't wait until the morning to phone him back and see what's up. Just wish he'd given more information in the message, it's got me thinking now

By the way, both jobs are Chester based - IRC62230 and IRC62214.

    Hey,

I've been trawling through these pages for the last couple of weeks to see if anyone else had applied for IRC 61417 but I've not seen any discussion of it.

    Application deadline: June 16th
    Interview: July 29th
    Letter of success: August 19th
    Checks complete: August 22nd

I have heard nothing since I called two weeks ago and was told they were waiting for a start date for me.

Unfortunately the phone is always engaged or no-one picks up. Is there an email address for the HR centre?

    Thanks.

I totally understand it's so frustrating , i think the only consolation is that there are a few others in the same situation. keep your chin up it will soon be over. i would certainly keep ringing though until someone answers i think they just do it to sort out the persistant ones. in your case it does seem a little longer than most.

When I phoned up DWP about a week ago asking for info as to a start date, they said that since my checks have cleared and been passed onto business services they no longer deal with my application and to just wait for business services in my area to call and give me a start date. I think DWP can only really help at this stage of the application if you have been waiting for a long time (like 4-6 months) for a start date and want to make a complaint.

I'm just stunned that they can actually interview for jobs that either don't exist or are earmarked for someone else.

I've been waiting 10 months for a job with HMRC after receiving my 'success' letter and have been told that unless a job comes up in the next six weeks I'm off the list and my 'sucess' will count for nothing as I'll have to start from scratch again.

It's pretty appalling. Thankfully I have a job but when you're told you're successful you expect to be moving on pretty swiftly.

Hi, going by what everyone on here has said i do not think this is "THE CALL" Newcastle send your file to the Job Centre you applied for and it is them that give you the call .... Maybe Newcastle are ringing to let you know your files have been passed... Have you recieved your disclosure Scotland??? Because this could be another reason.
I really hope its good news
