I got the call the other day but now they have called me up again offering me the office I really wanted, starting on the 20th - I'm so excited, I live just down the road and the rate of pay is higher there. It means about 3500 a year more money if I take into account not having to travel!
I've got two days off from my part time work, so I think tonight is party time
Hang in there folks, it seems like things are moving!0 -

Thanks
Hi Divinelistic,
I received my Disclosure Scotland for 61298 on the 7th Sept. A few days a go I received a call from the North and North East London District offering me a couple of locations. I said I was interested in locations in the Central London and City and East London Districts. They said they will be in contact by the end of this week. I'm not sure why my file was passed onto the North and North East London District.
At least two people have been posted already from this IRC. My understanding is that they were located in the West and South London Districts.
Hope this helps..0 -

Hello,
I'm a newby but I've been spying on this forum since I had my call asking me to go to have my tests. I was made redundant in April & had not so much as a "no thank you" from any of the jobs I'd applied for until the 1st of September when I had two calls in ten minutes asking my to go for two interviews on the same day! :T So I went to the first it went badly then I went for the tests for the JC+ job. I passed both test and a proper interview was arranged for the following week.
On the day of that interview for the job centre I got a call from the first job offering me the position, :j which I accepted because, aside from reading all of your posts, I have the added bonus of a brother in law and Dad who work for the CSA & tax office respectively so I got to hear about the recruitment pause and issues with staff safety in JC+ a while ago and could make an informed decision whether to wait or not.
So I started my new job, it's fab but the JC+ job was my first choice a few days ago I saw my old signing on lady, who knew I'd applied & said she'd keep an ear to the ground, and ended the conversation by saying that she was really looking forward to working with me  and then this morning I got my success letter.
Now my Dad says that this recruitment pause thing is basically being done so that they can sort themselves out & work out which department needs what & how they're going to cover themselves in the eventuality that the massive cuts come sooner rather than later, which seems sensible to me, but I'm now all excited.
I know that I shouldn't be because everyone's had awful experiences waiting & I know I'm lucky because I have a job now but damn it I'm greedy and I want this one too!!
So didn't mean to rattle on but I've been reading this thread for ages and feel like I know everyone and just wanted to say good luck to everyone, you're all wonderful to have gotten this far and my fingers and toes for all of us who haven't yet had "the call"
Basically so far my timeline looks like this;
1st September - call for tests
9th September - passed test
15th September - Interview
8th October - Success letter
Any day soon - "The Call" to say I'm fab and they need me! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
