  • Hi,

I called the number that ends in 8256. Apparently the person is a team leader. Two people have been posted from my IRC so I really hope I get posted soon.

    Hi,

i have just started my training for irc61298.. all i can say is its the worst company to work for. the managers are all unprofessional, rude, disorganised and don't know what they are doing..

and this is not just my own opinion my other colleagues i have trained with would say the same thing..

all the managers are unapproachable and have big egos.. the way they talk to staff and customers would really shock you.. i don't know where they got these people from!!!!!!!!!

you will probably see it for yourself when you start..the way its run you wouldn't even think you were working for the dwp i think maybe my expectations were really high to start off with because it was a government department i would be working for. i think you would get better treatment working in mcdonalds!!!!

but good luck to you all

It must be something to do with that part of London, well irc61298 is related to a CSO job isn't it? Based in City and East e,g; Central London, Barnsbury, Bromley, Lambeth Southwark and Wandsworth etc etc....

Bear in mind some local offices tend to do things differently and it is dependant upon their specific GM. But I think in your case it is an isolated incident cos the training is usually quite good.

Hi, thanks for that little isight. Can I ask what your training has entailed so far. You said you have been posted in Hounslow, is your training at Hounslow also, or somewhere else. How many other people are at your training, are they also for IRC 61298.

You are right, it's for a Customer Service Ofificer, I hope to get posted in the City or Central London. What does the role of Customer Service Officer involve, although my understanding is that you can be moved around to do any role within the AO grade?

On a side note, although the outcome is irrelevant to me I had an interview in Watford IRC 61488 on August 12th and still haven' received anything regarding this..

I got my call on Thursday and I start on the last week of October. Applied in May, had an interview on July and a long gap until I got my offer. Anyone else waiting on 60277? I'm guessing not. Good luck to others waiting for the good news.

Thanks! I have to admit, I gave up a couple of weeks ago but I'm glad I got a decent job. How's your progress coming along?

it must just be the jcp in the west london area that are like this...i know a few other colleagues who have started in other jcp in west london and they have had the exact same experience as me..

i had a two day induction and then three days at the hounslow jcp where i would be working.. those three days were just a complete waste of time.. the manager was unhelpful and didnt give us anything to do.. the whole three days was just spent sitting around doing nothing.. we can't really start the actual job until we have had our full training which i will have tomorrow in neasden for two days and another 3 days the week after...

but our manager was so disorganised and not with it that we had to often ask them for the forms we need to put our bank details in as well as asking them to issue us with our security pass.

Thunderbolt yes most of the people that were in my training were from irc61298 with a small hand full of EO who applied last year and were on the waiting list.....

all in all i have had a bad experience so far..... lets just hope my training goes well and that this week will be a productive week where i actually learn someting!!!!!!!!

I left to join Shaw Trust knowing they specialised in helping people with disabilities, I knew I could bring change and good to them and so left. At the time it was both money and ethical.

Wasn't it Shaw trust that was featured on the TV recently and was commented on by many as displaying a condescending attitude towards jobseekers? I'm not saying the commentators were right or wrong, but it just shows that what one person thinks of as good, another might not. You saw DWP as becoming target/result driven, which many taxpayers would approve of, yet others see Shaw trust as the same if not worse. Perhaps you shouldn't be so scathing in your comments on JCP/DWP?

And don't Shaw trust earn contracts on results/outcomes too? They aren't some wishy-washy softly-softly company.

As for the One project, it never really got a full integration with local authorities, it certainly got nowhere near helping with HB/CTB issues (of which I have a fair knowledge); it certainly was the "brains" behind JCP - I think you're overstating your own experience a little. The current system is a much better attempt at getting HB/CTB claims running alongside IS/JSA/ESA.
