I am new to the forum and I thank you guys for the constant flow of information.

I have just being to sign on and interestingly the person I dealt with had also gone to the same interview for EO IRC 60370 (she is currently a AO). I asked her about the freeze and rumours that it had been lifted. She stated that she had not heard that it had been lifted, but her colleague who had overheard us said that she received an email yesterday stating that it had been. This revelation prompted them to ask their senior manager (SEO).

What she was told was that "unofficially" it has been lifted, and allocations will be starting up. The advise she was told to give me was to keep waiting as the call could come at anytime within a forthnight of course depending on where I am on the merit list (25).

So I am keeping the faith and hoping that it will be soon. I hope this encourages y'all.

Thank you!! That is indeed encouraging. Fingers crossed everyone!

Well, my success letter did not mention a waiting list....but the info i've just received about starting says: 'We offered you a place on our waiting list.' What? Maybe they put that to everyone, who knows?

bethel00- my letter doesnt say how long my contract is OR if its permanent? How was yours worded? Mine just said 'we offered you a full time Fixed Term position'. Not for how long or anything?

I started as a fixed term AA for 18 months, I'm still here 6 years later as a permanent AO (got offered AO internally after 15 months) I even went for EO last year and was successful but found out it was in the jobcentre its self, so turned it down.

I know some staff who came in 25 years ago for a 6 month temp contract and are still in the dept now lol

Once your in the dept you trapped for everrrrrrrr :p:rotfl:
  • Just wondering if anyone can help me out - I have an EO interview coming up next week in London, and the 5 competencies are:

Delivering a Professional Service (Level 2)
    Delivering a Customer-Focused Service (Level 2)
Analysing, Improving and Changing (Level 2)
    Building Capability (Level 2)
    Leading (Level 2)

I have examples for Delivering a Customer-Focused Service, Building Capability and Delivering a Professional Service. I'm just wondering if anyone can help clarify a relevant situation in regards to:

    Analysing,Improving and Changing
    Leading

I've lead a football team in the past, but I don't think that will be relevant in this case. Also, I'm not at all sure regarding Analysing,Improving and Changing. I don't want examples, for these competencies are about looking at your own past experience, but I am asking that people give me hints so I can identify relevant situations that I can use in my life.

Also, in the interview, are questions asked just in relation to the competencies, or are other questions asked like: "What is your greatest weakness?", "Why do you want to work here?" etc?

    Thanks in advance.

I still haven't received anything about my start date and I found out 4 weeks ago.

  • Hi all,

Glad to see that some of you have had the call" since I last posted on here. I'm still waiting to hear. So if anyone has any info on IRC61979 Admin Assistant (Derby) then I'd very much like to know it, Lol!

I do have a question, I've noticed that some people have mentioned that their letters go on about being on a waiting list. I don't have that on mine, just a we're pleased to inform you spiel and we'll be in touch once we've done all the checks. I think it's ridiculous that they don't keep us informed as to where they are in the process. Almost makes me want to tell them to stick their job :rotfl:but having been unemployed for the majority of this year it's not an option. If they're like this now what are they like to work for??!

Anywho, if anyone has any more info please do tell :)

I was told when you are on JSA they can meet the costs of your travel until you get your first wage worth asking them about x
