DWP employment waiting list

Hiya Search,
I really dont know what Im going to do yet. A lot of thinking to do. I really need and want this job although probably wouldnt have applied for it if I thought PT wasnt an option.
Let me know if you hear anything. Cheers!
PT will be an option, you need to realise that training is full time so usually in training they give you a bit of paper and ask for preferences, i.e. site preference, hours, front line/back office etc etc so wait til you end up on training then you'll be fine.
Only 1% of applicants drop out at training, you'll get what you wantcos its throughout/after training that you meet your 'soon to be line manager' who will then ask you what you want to do etc and explain things in detail.

Well i just had someone call me on behalf of Louse Perry (second phonecall on her behalf since i emailed her lol). This lady was MUCH more helpful. She said she has looked into my case very closely and she can understand my concerns etc therefore she has gotten in touch with the business to see when i can expect a call. She said as im high up the list and have been for quite some time she wants answers as to why i had not been posted in August as expected and when i can expect a start date (she said she will ask for a timescale for my position on the merit list). She will phone me back on Monday with further details. Hopefully she'll get to the bottom of it all, and if not at least i'll have a timescale as to how much longer i'll have to wait. At last someone is taking me serious lol0

Thanks for all your help never-in-doubt!
I think i will be front line. That's what it said in the ad anyway. But i could be wrong. I actually don't know what the hell is going on most of the time...just go with the flow!
Hopefully i will enjoy it and fit in. I am a bit younger than everyone else who works in my jobcentre+ by the looks of it so hope i still can fit in ok! I would dread it if no one liked me"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -

Hiya
You'll be fine - frontline is actually the best.... dark and dingy ex DSS buildings (processing centres) don't do much for the brain cells....
Regards to age, sod em! They either adapt and accept you or they get the boot, we always strived to make everyone feel the same and to be honest, you may get the odd jobsworth but put them straight by using the old 'you're a junior grade manager' - usually upsets them and puts them back into place!
Its the customers you need to wary of, and whatever you do (best advice you'll ever get) NEVER work in the JC+ nearest your home! When/if you ever have to refuse and/or suspend benefit then it can prove costly - just some free advice2010 - year of the troll

Whoooops i am working at my nearest...it isn't too close, not like its right on my doorstep. A good walk and bus journey. They placed me there knowing that though? I will be moving everywhere soon anyway as my parents are divorcing. Hopefully i can afford to move out alone soon, well, if i can force anyone to want to live with me!! Could be a job on my hands there!
Awww thank you MandieIf everyone is as nice as they are on here, than i should be fine!! Fingers crossed they are 'ey!!!

LOL, move to Leeds and you can have my 'east wing' for the right price lol...
LOL, put it another way, I once tried to give a 'friend' advice, but when things went wrong and they stopped him money, he came pounding on my door going mad (it was a b/h weekend). I mean, what did he think I could do?
Just be careful, sometimes a friend isn't a friend when their income is involved! and when it comes to enforcing the DWP principles (i.e., apply for 2 jobs before you come to sign on) then you'll find too many familar faces restrict you cos you cannot deal with friends/family cases and so before long you end up missing too many appointments.... never get personally involved - all allegations of fraud/wrongdoing by PA's is investigated and you'd never know til we walked up behind you and asked to speak to you (usually suspended)....
Just follow the rules and don't get personal.... you'll be fine! If a friend/neighbour comes in, pass it to a colleague to deal.2010 - year of the troll

I should be okay...the area isn't too bad and it has a police station next door and a hospital down the road. I'm covered!
No one i know is on benefits, so i shouldn't get anyone i know.
I would love to move from the Wirral....just need the cash to escape!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0
