Hi Maisette
I tried phoning disclosure Scotland but gave up. I also emailed and have just received a reply that they have received the application but needed me to confirm my driving licence number. I have replied and now await them.
Thanks for all your help.
I have read many of your messages on here and also venus's. I would say that neither of you have anything to fear about your new jobs. You both appear extremely capable and I am sure that you will do very well. I hope you both keep us posted and look forwards to hearing of your triumphs.

thanks for your kind comments. hope it aint too hard. my mind aint what it used to be. was doing some washing other day while making a cuppa. put milk in washing machine and washing up powder in my cup. lol. god help them all at jcp. maybe they will have a nice quiet corner to put me in.:rotfl::rotfl:
No wonder you are doing these things. You have all sorts going through your head. However now that you are sorted take time to chill before your start date. You will be OK. x0 -
Hiya, no more joy here on part-time news, haven't heard anything. Thing is, the ad definitely said part-time was available and the DWP purport to be a top flexible working employer etc...would be kind of shocking if part-time wasn't available as a matter of course?
I don't think, for many people, not knowing working hours before you start a job is good enough really. It's an important thing. Part of me thinks maybe just signing up people for full time is easier for the people making the call...but the ad stated part-time was available (as it should be in this day and age), Newcastle confirmed it with me several times before interview and in interview i was told there are a huge variety of part-time workers on various working patterns. Are you going to stick with the full-time and wait and see or try and get somewhere with business services(?) before hand?
Well done Jimisugly, congratulations, great news!Hi Search!
Did you have any more joy finding out about part time hours since this post? Ive now been told there is only full time in my area even though it was also advertised as part time. Thanks!0 -
Hiya, no more joy here on part-time news, and I am waiting for North West too but haven't heard anything. Thing is, the ad definitely said part-time was available and the DWP purport to be a top flexible working employer etc...would be kind of shocking if part-time wasn't available as a matter of course?

Thank you, never--in-doubt. Your posts have been very helpful and informative. Shame you don't still work there we might have had an answer by now!
Thanks - if i'd still been there you'd have known already (plus i'd have made enquiries for you)...... Its one of those things, too many chefs in the kitchen which has an inevitable delay......

Someone else i know who applied for AO and will be working at the same place has started their training a bit before me, but before they started training they went and got assigned different types of jobs. Like fortnightly reviewer, greeter etc. I don't seem to have to do that? It just says AO? Why is it all so bl00dy confusing?!
Don't worry, different people get assigned different roles and this is decided at review stage (prior to offer) so they will move staff to suit the business needs and the staffing persona's.
Bottom line, if you're on fixed term contract, when you start you can check the intranet daily and loads of jobs on offer, thats how I got promoted and if you're the only applicant, you get the job! No interview required.....
The main difference is back office and frontline staffing, so if you end up in a benefit office then you'll be back office and have an EO in charge of your daily business - these guys are usually ego maniacs who think a junior management post gives them all sorts of power - it doesn't! The HEO is who can discipline etc - not the EO - so stay in there with the HEO.
If you're frontline (meet & greeter) in JC+ then things will be better cos you work alongside the EO's in a team and so are respected somewhat more.... I was part of the team that changed the JC (ES/SS) into JC+ you see today so ran into lots of 'senior managers' and the like, they are all !!!!!cats when you stand up to them....
Basically, enjoy yourself and things will sort themselves out in time.....2010 - year of the troll
