Oh gosh!!! Hope i don't faint with nerves...back to the doctor for some more drugs for me!!
Oh i dread things like this. My friend had a 'team building' session where she worked and they had to dress up and preform as their favourite pop star in front of everyone. She said she nearly died a death stood up dressed as Prince, singing 'Purple rain' out of tune!!!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -

It was classroom based and taught you LMS (Labour Market System) and their GSi mainframe etc - do not get caught looking at mates on the mainframe - DSSP's monitor these and they are randomly checked - 1 in 10 across the whole network so if you access mainframe say twice a day, chances are you'd be audited both times! Its not worth it...
We monitor this as a lot of JC staff get bribed by DCA's knowing that the GSi is spot on and getting staff working on the sly, obtaining addresses of high value debtors, would result in £250 payments being made.... we sacked over 500 a year so it is rife!
Don't do anything on the PC's - everything is monitored apart from LMS which is the local system for notes and jobs/signing on etc.... and used by the front line JC+ only.
Well, don't tell anyone...but i'm a bit of a geek when it comes to work and i am too scared to do anything wrong!! Gosh, that all looks complex...what if I'm not intelligent enough to understand it! Noooo!!!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -

The role play is usually acting as benefit advisor and customer, then they diversify and start getting complaining customers, awkward customers etc - in fact they call them clients! LOL
So you'll be there and watch other newbies act out the front line and then have a go, you'll be fine - the trainers dont try and catch you out, they try and teach you how to deal with nasty 'clients'.....
I once had a druggie jump the desk (collapsible of course) with a needle, it missed and he stabbed himself in the chin when the desk fell! sooooo funny (it was water inside).... The training never covered that situation LOL :rotfl:2010 - year of the troll

Hi All,
I received this email from Jan Treleaven.
It sounds like there aren't enough jobs to me.
Especially as our jobs were suppose to be there already.
Hello Kim
JCP are currently reviewing their staffing position, and will be in touch once they have a firmer idea of future opportunities. We do not expect this to be before late October.
Thanks Jan0 -

LOL, i;m telling you my old job - not what you'd do! Its a heads up not to be bribed - you will get caught! They always do lol.....
I was based in the Kremlin (Quarry House) Leeds, it was a nightmare in there - looked like the kremlin as well as felt like it! DWP is great though, if only they never started the silly 'ONE' project! (same as JC+ but dealt with HB as well).... :eek:2010 - year of the troll

Oh gosh, hopefully a violent druggie would look at lil' old me, and not want to hurt me. Hopefully i look much too innocent to attack....well, fingers crossed!!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0

GULP - that's where I wanted. Instead, I got posted in Hunslet. Sounds like a narrow escape, not that I'm that bothered. I did fraud investigation for Customs for years so the violence will seem quite tame to being chased through West London by gun toting drug pushers.0 -
never-in-doubt wrote: »This is basic vetting, so long as you can prove what you did do then that is suffice, so in your case a student from home looking after a sick relative would be fine. The fact that you declare what you done is suffice, although you sometimes have to actual prove it which is easy enough when you provide your certificate....
Yes, always ensure when completing these forms you work to competencies; for instance remember to use the Why (you did it), What (you done) & How (you did it)....
Normally they ask for one employer/college (reference) and one personal (referee).....? If you've not worked or have sketchy history, then use the tutor from your A Levels as they are classed as a reference
On average, i'd dismiss around 50 people a year for application irregularities so make sure you tell the truth...
Hi- thanks
I passed the tests/interview and am now waiting for them to do whatever job checks they do. The form asked for two personal references, not job/professional ones, which is why I was happy lol
I filled out the form accurately but could not really add much for the three year employment history - in the space to add to/explain it at the bottom I just mentioned the exams I did and that I stayed at home with a sick relative. I have the certificates for the exams, but dunno how I'd prove the sickness - there is now a death certificate but I would not emotionally be able to deal with that!0
