Venus - we are all using psudonames on here so don't worry about them being able to "track you down" - however IF we do end up working together I might track you down hahaha:rotfl:
So anyone heard anything else this week??????? - I tried ringing my contact in Newcastle about 20 times and get no answer.0 -
Funny that considering I have friends and family who work in the DWP and it's not helped me 1 little bit - they have nothing to do with my application. It's not like when you apply to the council and they ask if you have friends or family who work there.

Hi everyone
I am waiting for 60227 which is London so was feeling fairly optimistic that when Newcastle finally find all my aperwork they have lost I might get 'the call'. However, have now spoken to Newcastle who say nothing is happening until the end of October even for London. Why are we all getting told different things? It is so upsetting.
Is anyone else still waiting for 60227? Since the application date was May 2009 I just feel I have been completly lost in the system.
hmmm, I'm not sure what to believe regarding London. I was successful for IRC 61298..I received my successful letter in Aug 27 and Disclousure Scotland early September, I haven't been contacted since. I haven't attemtped to contact anyone at Newcastle yet but might do from next week. Two people have already been posted from 61298 and that was just before news on this apparent freeze...
They placed an advert on the site for AOs across London, if there is a freeze in London then why did they put this advert up???0 -
I emailed to today and basically asked whether or not I should be seriously looking for jobs elsewhere and the answer I got back was yes. I was never supposed to be on this waiting list either as I'd had all my checks etc done and was supposed to be starting. Can't beleive it as for the last few weeks I've pretty much not bothered to look as I thought I was about to start!
Hi,
This is quite worrying to read.
What address did you email and what was the name and job title of the person who replied to you?
Which area have you applied to?
I think it's quite irresponsible to say such a thing to you.
The chap i spoke to in Newcastle was not very forthcoming with any sort of definite answers or information yesterday.
It was only when I asked him directly, if there was a recruitment freeze, he said YES, and then proceeded to tell me the centres were just working through their numbers and seeing what head count they still needed etc.
Nothing was clear. I don't think you knew what to say, which tells me he's either trying to palm people off as they are not recruiting or he doesn't know what is going on either.
If this is the case, he should say nothing rather than give incorrect information or he should be directing us to someone in authority who does know the answers.
The thing is, I applied for a job, I was told I was successful for that job so why on earth is it not there???? It shouldn't be a case of counting numbers, the job should be there!!!
It's beyond me how they think this acceptable. It's behaviour of a very poor acting recruitment agency, when they put job adverts out there just to get people to apply, to get the applicants on file (meeting targets) but there is no live job at all.
Signed, a very frustrated applicant.0 -
hi every one. hope you all well. love the bbc thing. will email myself tomorrow. got myself a job interview on 14 oct with nhs. clerical officer in eye hospital. might not get it but it restored my confidence a bit. best bit. i can take my crb paid for by dwp. hoping it will give me a bit of an advantage cos they wont have to apply for one for me.
Hi there,
Congratulations on getting the interview. Atleast it tells you what you are putting on paper is catching the attention of the employer.
From experience, the NHS requires all applicants, at all levels to apply for an enhanced criminal records disclosure, a far higher level than the basic.
So if you were successful you would have to wait, once again, for the enhanced CRB to be processed.
Good luck!0 -

Good luck with your interview:T Its pretty hard to get through to interview with NHS so WELL DONE:beer:0 -
thanks. hopefully they will be more competent than dwp. just glad to get interview. money not as good and will need to travel furthur but its a permanent postion.
I used to work with the NHS HR department and I agree, it is hard to get through to interview.
You have done brilliant to get through to interview, they already like you, they just want you to show them they were right.
Put the DWP experience out of your mind whilst you deal with this interview, remember, never ever "bad mouth" another employer or recruitment experience.
They just want to talk about the role you are applying for with them.
Try to read the mood of the interviewers, if they are formal, you be formal, if they are more relaxed, you be more relaxed. The aim is to try and match their mood.
Think of examples you could answer with, the more preparation you do the better.
I wish you the very, very best of luck.0 -

Hello jessbob,
That is exactly what it is, a fiasco. I've never known the likes.
When were you initially interviewed?
Which area did you apply for?
It's concerning that they are still interviewing??? They should place us before interviewing any further.
All that money, paying capita and manpower, crb checks etc.
The country is in a state. I never feel political but this experience has got my goat.
I emailed my local MP this morning you know, my partner will laugh when they come home, I'm on my soap box now ha ha.
I'm on a sickness related benefit, and was referred to the "famous" Shaw Trust.
They are another joke.
Did anyone see the tv programme about unemployment in oldham, the Shaw Trsut portrayed themselves very, very bad. They were absolutely condescending towards unemployed people!
We are either poorly having a hard time, unemployed needed a break but we are not stupid!!!
A man at the Jobcentre plus asked my my qualifications, then looked surprised and said, ooh your more qualified than me!
I said, please don't look so surprised, I'm not stupid, just not well.
That is one worker that could go and make way for some of us.0
