  • By the way i have telephoned the number on the successful letter, they were helpful several weeks ago, but the last two weeks they can`t/refuse to tell/say anything, also emailed Louise Perry and got no reply.
  • Hey!

Yea i gathered that by my brief look through this thread. Makes it even more frustrating because i applied for the job in June!! lol! Seems like whoever i get put through to cannot help me out beyond the crb stage. Any recent success for anyone? hows your search going?

Thanks, it is the North West where I applied. My brother works for the DWP and he said that he got exactly the same as I did and started within three months of applying, also it's not a JC+ I'm applying for but a specific BDC position in Birkenhead. As I say you never know with these things but I'm vaguely optimistic I'll start in the new year.
You might be ok if it's for a specific position. AO / EO recruitment is frozen nationally except for JC+ offices in the regions I mentioned (BDC's are frozen nationally, no exceptions).

Best of luck. I've already been waiting over 2 months since interview in mid July for an EO role. Got a success letter with no mention of waiting list (my partner is on wait list for the same IRC). Was expecting 'the call' this week, but the freeze has scuppered that :(.

    What area/IRC are you?

I also applied in June, interview July, success letter August and checks in late August - told I would receive a call soon. That was the last I heard.

Just frustrating at having to start the whole applying for jobs process again when you thought it was all over.

I know there are people who have been waiting longer than me too. Also, I am currently working, (albiet in a quite low paid job with no prospects and have no family to support) so in a way I feel quite lucky which is strange!

It's really frustrating for people mainly due to the lack of communication and the waiting. It is not nice at all for people with familes especially with christmas coming up. It's the feeling of thinking you finally had a job only for it to be taken away. Just hope there's some better news coming next month and we all get placed.
  • Hey guys, I just found this forum, doesn't look like good news does it?

I applied for IRC 61418 Black Country in July, had lit/num tests 21st July, interview on 27th July then received success letter not mentioning any kind of waiting list in August and also got my CRB back from DS at the end of August, and then I've heard nothing since. Has anyone else applied for the IRC??
  • i have never seen anyone on here from my irc-60396-bristol. makes me wonder if i have missed out on a posting because of delay with my crb. oh well after watching last nights tv programme on the wounded soldiers i have lots to be thankful for and aint wasting any more time worrying about dwp. if they want me they know where i am.

I know where you are coming from ! I'm gonna leave it now, and stop getting worked up about it all.

Like you say, if they want us they will contact us in due course, and then I will look on it as a bonus.

I have just been offered a really crap paid job, but it will put me on until something better comes along. I feel its always better to find a job when you are working anyway, and I HATE being at home all day, and HATE signing on, and trying to get my insurance payments every month. The job I've been offered will mean I get less a month than I do now as I have insurance to cover mortgage & finance etc, but it doesn't last forever and I feel it will do my confidence a great deal of good being in work again

    Good luck, M

Very similar to my timeline. Apply and online test in June, interview mid July, success letter 2nd Sept, CRB back in mail Tuesday last week.

Even more frustrating for me. Company I used to work for restructured this time last year. One person from my department was made redundant, but the rest of us were told our jobs were safe and the restructuring complete. In Dec I earned a promotion. In Feb the company broke it's promises and initiated a second round of restructuring ... a lot more redundancies. My job was moved to the US, so I took the voluntary redundancy but worked until end of April due to some rather important releases that needed me there to cover. My 6 months contribution based JSA runs out in the first week of November, so this delay is going to take me pretty close to 6 month review time unless I find something in the meantime.

As for communication ... I think they could really use someone like me in their HR office. I specialise in communications. Sure, it was for online MMO games previously, however I know that I could give them some strong pointers on how to communicate with a large group of people you're about to disappoint.

To start off with, attempting to hide the information because it might 'confuse people' is wrong. The info has a way of getting out, and when it does it just causes more confusion and added frustration because it leaks out piecemeal instead of coming out in full and with a good amount of Q&A to support it.

Always better to be proactive and be prepared and supply that bad news with as much information pertaining to the bad news as possible. Always worse to wait until there's a leak and then chase after it trying to clean things up.
