DWP employment waiting list

Jess, I got the same reply from that email I sent yesterday....
I am sorry but we cannot help you with this as we only deal with Payroll problems for DWP staff. I have however forwarded to the Customer Service Manager for Resourcing. Her contact details are below. Hope that helps

spoke to Louise this morning, she was very understanding and said she would get someone to call me back as she couldn't view my IRC on the system.
However, I attended an appointment at my local JCP this morning for my Work Focused Interview and my case worker has been chasing things up with the internal recruitment co-ordinator for West Yorkshire (Business Services), who said my name had not been passed on to her from Newcastle as my CRB was not back  Luckily, I had the compliment slip with me which was attached to my CRB certificate last week, showing that the DWP had infact received it and forwarded it on to me.:mad:
Came home, constantly tried ringing Janice who is dealing with IRC60540 - managed to get though to her    Guess what she said....."we've not received your CRB..." I politely informed her that she HAD received my CRB and she had sent it to me with a compliment slip with HER name on. She was very apologetic and marked my checks as clear and said an updated merit was going to be sent to 'The Business' today.
Just received a call back from a woman called Samantha (the call back that Louise said i'd receive) who basically said all my checks including my CRB were clear....errrr, yeah, they are now! she told me I am at position 33 on the merit list and there are still lots of people who haven't been posted for this IRC yet (phew!)
So yep, after all this i'm still waiting, at least I know I haven't slipped thorough the net (although if I hadn't chased this up, they would still be waiting on my CRB which I received on 10th Sept!)
Oh, and I've to wait at least 2 weeks for 'the call' as its unlikely to happen sooner!
I called and was told that I would have to wait really as there was nothing they could tell me at this point. Apparently my checks are all back and that I am near the top of the merit list. I asked if it was standard practice then for them to place other people a lot further down the list first and was told in some circumstances this may happen depending upon need. At least I feel better actually being able to speak to someone (thanks goodness for that number that actually works!) but no further info really.0 -

OH......MY.......GOD!!!!!!!
I've only gone and got THE CALL!!!!! I was out shopping when I received a withheld number on my mobile, (was prepared with pen and paper even though I was told it was unlikely i'd hear anything within 2 weeks)
Start date - 2nd Nov, perfect for me, as it gives me plenty of time to get my 15 month old into nursery etc.... and the Job Centre is local to me. I'm over the moon :j
One piece of advice i'd give to you all, persistence pays, the countless phone calls, emails to managers etc... sometimes it works to kick up a bit of a stink (in a polite way of course) and if something doesn't feel right, get on their case... as my earlier post today explains how they can easily make mistakes by not ticking off the checks as complete when they receive them!
I'm actually in shock, as this time yesterday I was convinced I had been forgotten about! Last night I had a bottle of wine to get over the stress of being ignored all day, and now I might have to have one to celebrate!
Good luck to you all and I hope that you all receive your calls VERY soon.counterfeit wrote: »Update - the DWP are having problems differentiating between elbows and err, bums.
My referee has been contacted this morning, via email, for the other 3 IRCs I passed. He just rang to ask me if he should reply. I told him to forward the original email to each request.
So, is there a freeze in West Yorkshire or not???
I asked about this earlier today and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about... and then later on I received my start date so I doubt it????0 -
WELL DONE!!!! :beer:0

I had my interview at end of may and success letter in july and have still not been placed. I passed my checks on 9th august and am 34/70 on the merit list.
In my previous post I detailed that I had turned down a 45k/year job in sales (which I was offered on the same day as my letter from DWP) as I want to work for the greater good.
I have had an interview this morning with another department of the DWP who wish to take me on (and who got my details from the merit list of JCP).
After having my interview they are very keen to take me on, but since our telephone conversation 2 weeks ago she has been informed that there is a NATIONWIDE BLANKET FREEZE ACROSS ALL DWP DEPARTMENTS until further notice and despite wanting to place me she can't. According to her anyone who is placed whilst the freeze is on is very lucky as the line manager will have had to have gone through several people to apply to HR for an exception to the freeze (including those on merit list). This is what she has said she will be doing for me and has said that it will take up to 2 months to for her to get an answer.
Needless to say I'm gutted and I hate to be the bearer of bad news for you all but according to her no-one will be placed in the near future, merit list or not. She did say that there are certain job centres across the country who are stilll in dire need of AO's and EO's and they would be top of the list for HR to give exception to.
Rumours are that the spending cuts in private sector which all political parties are pledging are going to hit DWP hard. Therefore powers that be are reluctant to give out 18 month contracts knowing that they will probably not be able to see them out. It will be cheaper for those that are already placed to be made redundent (probably within 12 months so they dont qualify for employment benefits) and to just write off the money spent on this recruitment drive.
I for one am looking for another job as I can't afford to live on if's and maybe's.
One crazy thing to end on. They are still interviewing for posts in my area at AO even though I know for a fact that the 3 offices local to me have no places left and the fact that there's a freeze anyway! I guess manpower aren't complaining though; they must have made a killing interviewing for jobs that don't exist.
I really hope I'm wrong on this. Is there anyone out there who has got 'the call' this week?0 -

I received 'The Call' today, and West Yorkshire hadn't heard of the 'Freeze' when I asked them?!
Although my position might have been passed through line managers as it was through fault of one of the DWP employee's why I've been waiting so long (see my earlier posts) I kicked up a bit of a fuss and complained to the head of customer services. ??
I hope something 'Official' is released with regards to this freeze, and where exactly it is affecting, so pepole know where they stand!!!:mad::mad:0 -
