I dont know what to think now about all of this. My kids and I were looking 4ward to a nice xmas with my finally securing a job after years of scrimping on single parent benefits and now it appears that our hopes have been dashed just before the finish line. I could cry.0

I think there are (and will be) people feeling exactly the same way. There's disappointment all round.0

i know what u mean im a single mom too and the only job id had in a few years and i gave my notice in when i knew i had this dwp job as they said it wud be a september start, now i have no job and cant claim benefits as i wilfully handed notice in, so if i dont find a job soon we may not even have a xmas,0 -
I was told on the phone to bring my passport and a passport photo, and am going for the Lit/Num test on Thursday at the Thistle Hotel.
But now your post is making me think about phoning them tomorrow and double-checking this whole passport + photo thing.
i meant passport sized photo.0 -
Hay
I sent an email as i was on a list waiting and was told this,
still no movement on this exercise other than the top 53 people have had the BSS checks completed and their names have been passed to the JCP coordinator for posting.
I believe JCP are currently reviewing their staffing position and will be in touch once they have a firmer idea of future opportunities and this might not be before late October.
thoughts? shall i just give up hope??
:rotfl:

What I want to know is if they are posting NO ONE right now. I can't be certain, but the JCP centre's I applied for haven't posted any one recently (Peterborough & Wisbech). How can they not post anyone if they haven't so in the beginning? Why advertise for jobs?0

Oh God - how awful for you. Ur in an even worse position than me. At least I still have my benefits. I wouldnt feel quite so bad myself if I hadnt stupidly told my kids "now that mum is getting a job we can get....." blah, blah. U know wot I mean. Grrrr..............:mad:0 -
What a sad state of affairs for a department that is supposed to get people into work. My heart goes out to you all.0

I hope you can sing as well. Don't want to let us down now on protest day.
Anyway, i hope none of the big bosses of the dwp are reading this...they are going to think they have (nearly...hopefully) employed some right nutters!!! haha!
The more you post your craziness - the more I like you. Really hoping we get posted in the same JC. It could be fun working with you :rolleyes:0 -

This boils my blood. I was also told I'd be getting a call with a start date by the 23rd at the latest. And when I rang to double check on friday I got the "oh no, sorry, earliest will be end of october, maybe longer" and that my success letter was now no certainty I was getting a job at all :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:0
