Wow, i am impressed...if that doesnt get through to them...NOTHING will!! Nice lyrics anyway...Bob Dylan would be jealous
I hope you can sing as well. Don't want to let us down now on protest day.
Anyway, i hope none of the big bosses of the dwp are reading this...they are going to think they have (nearly...hopefully) employed some right nutters!!! haha!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -

Well, I am something of a legend around these parts - that's the left hand seat of the big sofa.0 -

Hope that's a typo ?
Up to sammy whether he/she wants to post on this thread again or not but I still stand by what I said and feel. As you will see from a quote by sammy that he/she originally said it applies to all Contact Centres and BDC's in the 3 areas !! Now it's just Jobcentres !!
The info is conflicting and contradicting to say the least but hey what do I know. I'm just as confused now as I was on Friday.

Those 2 quotes pretty much add up to the same thing from what I can see - the only places that people are still being taken on are Jobcentres in the 3 regions stated.
I think it just lacks clarity on when she's saying somewhere is still recruiting as opposed to not recruiting.
And it's just a thought, but maybe sammy knew better what she could or could not say based on her experience?
One thing's for sure - there won't be any sort of press release I'd bet - I think they see their day job (paying benefit, getting people other jobs etc) as priority and recruitment as less important?
And don't count on the press - "Govt taking on fewer civil servants outrage!" ??? I doubt you'll be seeing that headline soon.0 -

* There is a national freeze on recruitment, expected to be lifted late October depending on what they decide they need going forward.
* If you already have a start date, you've still got your job.
* BDC's and contact centres are frozen nationally.
* There are three regions where the freeze does not apply for JC+ offices: London, North West and West Mids.
* Sammy hopes that people he/she PMed are down for JC+ in those areas, as it would mean they are unaffected by the freeze.
Just to add, what I was told this morning is that they've had a *lot* of problems with outsourced companies when they changed the recruitment procedures earlier this year. I can certainly vouch for that, as myself and my partner have been impacted by numerous problems and delays. Which reminds me, I need to call DWP re: 60369 and the interview they promised I would get but still haven't heard a date for. This time last week I didn't care about it as I had a success letter for EO, and '69's just an AO. Now I think I want to interview, as if they reduce the intake I may miss out on the EO.0 -

There's no way it should take 3-6 months (or more in many cases based on threads here) from applications closing to starting successful applicants.
There's also the small matter of copious amounts of wasted taxpayer money: eg we know they paid for four CRB checks on Counterfeit, and I've seen others mentioning receiving more than one CRB certificate back.0 -
Sammy's phrasing is just a bit awkward. There's no contradictions or typos once you can wrap your head around it. Summary as follows:

Ok, I stand corrected. When it's written down like that you can make more sense of things. But you can see where the confusion and frustration comes from.
Sammyjammy, if you are reading through these posts then I appologise to you for what I perceived as mis-information on your part and can see that you was only trying to help.
Still confused though as people still waiting for the call are still having their checks done. People are still being called to interviews and tests. And they are still advertising !!0 -
From what i've gathered, DWP are still gonna carry on processing applications, criminal checks etc and pass them on to Business services when finished. It is the latter who decide whether to place you or not.0

I'm 21st on the EO list, but don't know where on the AO list as they didn't put a number on that letter and no one is answering their phones in Newcastle!!
I've got my Criminal Checks through and I had a phonecall from a Job Centre office in Dunfermline asking on my preference of office (this was about a month ago). He said they'd be sending out letters the following week stating my start date. Needless to say, this never happened and when I phoned, a lady answered saying the gent I'd spoken to was 'on holiday'.
I asked her when it would be likely that I would get communication from them again and was it wise to look for another role since this was taking so long? She said she didn't know and was completely unhelpful.
Anyone else know what's going on in Fife? I wondered if I should pop in to my local branch and just ask if they already have new EO's working there - at least that way I'd get a straight answer, but they might think I'm a bit weird!!!!
Hey i also applied in Fife. Had tests and interview in May and success letter in June (AO position), got my CRB checks back in August and nothing yet. I was told 2 weeks ago to expect the call very soon as i was high up on the merit list and all my checks were completed but nothing yet. And from the news ive just read i doubt i will get anywhere soon. I tried to call the guy dealing with my IRC but no answer so he cant be in the office today. Im gonna keep trying tho, im sick of us all getting the run around....0 -

Yeah it seems like it...bit pointless them spendign all that money to recruit when they hit us with this at the end of it all lol.0
