I can't be doing with another day like yesterday:mad:

Gonna try a couple of times this morning, then looks like I will have to resign myself to the fact that they are just not going to give us any answers !

  • Hey, ok so i got thru to someone this morning. I firstly asked where i was on the merit list and how the freeze on recruitment would affect me. She said that i was 32nd on the list, and in regards to the freeze, not to worry. She said its not going to take long to process the information they need to, and they will start posting again in the next few weeks and that the order of the merit list will stay the same...so altho it might take a few weeks longer our jobs will still be granted. She also told me that 78 people have been posted in my area in the last 2 weeks so not to be disheartened because it will happen, and she said the likelihood is that it will defo be b4 xmas. She also said that the reason we have not been informed of this "freeze" is because its not going to directly affect us people on a merit list other than having a few weeks of a longer wait, and that it really is not as bad as it has been made to sound. Basically they done a mass recruitment and got a much bigger response than they expected to so they have been left with masses of people who have been successful. Until they can compose the lists and find out exactly how much people they need in certain areas they want to freeze the process to make it easier to handle but regardless of this there ARE still jobs to fill. She seemed to be very sure of what she was saying so im not panicking at the minute. I think if your on the merit list your ok, but if your on a 12 month waiting list...well im not sure. I think most of us are on merit lists tho eh?

well that sounds more hopeful than i thought it was gona be, lets keep everything crossed that she is right :T:T
  • What if there was no mention of a merit list or waiting list in the letter? I take it you'd be in the same position as those on a merit list?
