DWP employment waiting list

Hi everyone. I've been reading this for a couple of weeks but I thought I'd get involved now. I applied for 61569 - AO in East of England.

My timeline is this:

Applied: 15th July
Closed: 27th July
Tests: 10th August
Interview: 20th August
Letter: 4th September (success - no waiting list - I phoned and found I was in a decent position on the Merit list)
Disclosure Scotland: 16th September

I phoned up last week when I received my certificate from DS and asked what was next. The woman told me my checks were all complete and my information had been passed forward to Business Services (or whatever they're called).

Then why have my referees been contacted by someone from Newcastle this morning? Has someone been telling me porkies?

I asked about that and was told that EVERYONE goes on a Merit or Waiting list. You should call them and ask where you are.

if ur not on a waiting list then ur on the merit list, thats what i have been told anyway hun x

What she said seems to make sense. I did also ask why certain areas werent affected and in regards to London she said that with it being such a huge city with many offices they dont have an overflow of successful applicants, so they can continue to post. Whereas smaller areas might be overloaded with people and not have quite enough jobs to give out. I dont know, i just hope that being 32nd on the list will swing in my favour. good luck to every1....im sure we'll get there eventually!!! And to be honest, altho id love to be given a start date right here right now, im dreading leaving my 20 month old to go to work full time so im just gona concentrate on enjoying still being here with him until the time comes lol

I don't think i'll phone up and ask as most people have been saying that the merit lists are kinda meaningless. Also I'd be panicking over something else if I found out I was 100 on the list lol.

Yeah id phone them up and check. When i got my success letter it said i was on a 12 month waiting list but when i phoned up i was told id got the wrong letter and that i was infact on a merit list. Pays to check it out hun xx

awww thats right babes enjoy it while u can they grow up soooo quick, i blinked and mine went from a gorg bundle of joy to a TEENAGER :eek:

Yeah i worried about that. When i phoned up she first told me "oh your 110th on the list". i was like "NOOOO" but then she said "oh no 78 ppl been posted in last 2 weeks so ur 32nd" PHEW! I wouldnt panic too much either way. Being on the merit list places u higher than those on the waiting list right away, so were all gonna be posted first. Im kinda glad im not on the 12 month waiting list cos i wouldnt be too hopeful to be honest...i could be wrong tho!
