I alternated between rolly-smoking panic and periods of tea-drinking calm. It WAS hard but I finished it to the best of my ability. SF I didn't know you were going in for the HEO test too? How do you feel you did? I have absolutely no clue or feeling for whether I passed. I think we just have to wait and will probably have the results emailed. The message at the end said this would be when all the tests were in so 'give it a few weeks'. The deadline is today or tomorrow so I guess we'll hear quite soon.

Thanks! You too. Fingers crossed for both of us and SamR. (and anyone else who did it)

I was an HEO in a different life and had to pass a critical reasoning test to take up the grade. It was the Watson Glazer, though, a standard test that was easier than this one! I've applied for AO, EO and HEO in DWP now and will take the highest I can get. So far, no firm offers, just one EO 'waiting list', 3 more EO interviews (tho dunno when they might be) and waiting on results of 5 AO competence choice tests and this HEO one. I also did an on-line test for AO at TSols (Treasury Solicitor) yesterday. I've come to the conclusion that I don't like these on-line tests and would rather sit in an exam hall. The atmosphere is somehow more condusive to concentration.

  • Has anyone applied to South Shields/Jarrow/Sunderland/Newcastle JCPs?

Sorry this may sound like a silly question, but I got my successful letter on 20th Feb 2009 (pending checks etc...) but it is only today that I got my CRB check back, should I ring DWP to say I have my CRB back or do they already have a copy?

Ok! If it arrived in a brown envelope, theat means the DWP have sent it to you after seeing it, if it arrived in a white envelope, it's come direct from Disclosure Scotland and you'll need to send it to DWP.

That's what I was told. They've probably already seen it.

What area have you applied in?

Keep having a look out on this website below (they post all the vacancies there and sometimes on jobcentre plus website)

    Hi everyone,

I recently went for an Interview and Assessment exercise for an Admin Officer post with the dwp.Ive since recieved a letter to say ive been successful and ive been put on a waiting list..in the interview i was told that the posts were for last week in feb there was no mention of any waiting list?? Just wondering if anyones had any expierence of this? I contacted the dwp who informed me the waiting list is for up to 6 months and she could not give me any idea of when i would be contacted just that they take 10 people a time from the waiting list to fill posts at that time.Ive also recieved a few days after a form to fill in for them to do police checks..does this mean they are not far from offering me a job?

    Cheers
I had a similar issue, I passed tests and the interview back in December 2008, references were applied for and CRB check... ages ago. Last week somebody called me to offer be a job starting on 5 May, but not permanent as originally suggested... fixed term contract. I already have a job... so it's a tough call. Fingers crossed you will get a call. Good luck.
