Hi all, I had my official offer letter today with a start date of 1st June which suits me fine as I will have enough A/L from my current job to have a weeks holiday between the two! Quick question, when working out annual leave owed to me between the beginning of the annual leave year which is 1st April and when I leave 31st May would I just divide my yearly entitlement by 52 then times by the weeks necessary?
Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!
:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!

Congratz! Your AL will depend on how your company works it out. Some companies may do it the way u suggested. However, some companies say you earn (for example) 2 days AL etitlement for every month you work.

If it's like the rest of the Civil Service, last actual day of the month unless it's a Sat or Sun or bank holiday Monday, in which case last Friday of the month.

Regarding the HEO test, I have now had the links sent. Has anyone done it yet? Is it difficult? Are they situations tests or critical reasoning or what?

    There are 6 cases.
For each case there is a passage of writing describing a situation and some tables of numbers relating to what has been described.
There are a few multi-choice questions about the passage. For example 'From the info given which of these options can you be sure is true...'
Then there are some maths questions for each case- usually %s
Finally you have a few questions where you have to grade some possible responses to a situation - so, something similar to the online application for EO/AO position.

Each case follows a similar format. You have 60 minutes to complete all 6 cases. This starts when you are presented with the first case (there is an on-screen timer) not when you first open the link - there's some stuff to fill in first.

    Hope that helps.

    It certainly does help.

But it doesn't fill me with confidence....

Oh well, I'll give it a go.

    Thanks.
