DWP employment waiting list

Does anyone know if Newcastle send you a letter once all pre-recruitment checks are complete, or are you only contacted once they call you with an offer?

I got my Disclosure Scotland Certificicate yesterday, not sure if this means my checks might be coming to completion or when I should expect a call.

yep, just ur work history or personal ref left to go and then "the call". U need to ring newcastle to also check what number u r on the merit list and how many posts are available.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I am reading conflicting things regarding personal ref checks and employment checks. Someome people are saying that they get employment checks from HMRC and don't contact current employer. I've also read that they don't bother to contact personal refs..it's all very confusing.

It is true that they don't contact your employers and do get employment checks from HMRC but in a situation whereby they can't trace your records, they then contact your personal refs.
In my own case they couldn't trace my records bcos i had been out of work for 1 and a half years and so contacted my refs. hope this info helps.

Thanks, it does help. I have been in continuous employment so I guess there won't be a need to contact personal refs.

Had success letters for North & Mid Wales IRC61675 (AO), last week, and IRC61764 (EO) today, hope they get checks done pdq and I get a start date. Anyone else on here gone in for these?

i also went for the IRC60076 and was also phoned to do a health check, after this i received my disclosure scotland (about one week later) and have been offered the post i wanted, so just hang in there because by the sound of things you will be getting 'the call' very soon

I also went to the interview in Birmingham and followed the same pattern as storerscorer. I received a telephone call yesterday offering me a position starting 28/9/09....Very pleased indeed. Good luck everyone.
