The waiting can go on for a few months even after the initial invitation, usually down to security checks. If you have any previous Admin experience then try to apply for an EO position otherwise you face months of tedious repetetive tasks (especially in the BDC's) and have to endure months of TDA. Other than that the old school network is incredibly annoying by which I mean those whom are simply there to collect their pensions and dislike anyone who shows any creatitvity or flare.

Plenty of training on offer and it's incredibly easy for the money, just prepare to be bored a lot and if your offered a deal where by you can work until 4-8PM each day and are allowed to work you other hours as and when over 3,4 or 5 days, say no unless you wish to be bound to it! Business needs and all that.

Don't forget to join the PCS and if at all possible get involved, the more of us the stronger we are!!

On a side note, I had an AO interview IRC 61488 for Watford/Luton on the 12/08/09 and haven't heard anything as to the outcome of the interview even though it's nearly been a month since interview. There is no consistiency as to the time frames between districts. I don't think it really matters as 61298 is better suited for me anyway, but it would build self-esteem if it turns out I was successful for this as well. Oh well...

Yes ,i an very interested in 61298,got my CRB on 30th aug,please keep me posted on this,i called and was told there are 169 on the list but i was not told how many were needed,could not tell me my no on list too,fingers crossed,waiting for the call.DWP PLeaseeeeeeeeee callllllllll nowwwwwwwwwwww.

OMG I was told that I was 154! But if only 150 jobs!

Although I do know that some people are on more than 1 list, like me!

So some people will drop off the list when they take up another job, after all it was June when the applications went in.

I have a temp job at the mo so, not jumping every time the phone rings, but i would like to know that I have a more permanant job, even if its only 18 months.

My progress so far.....

IRC60540 - closing date 15/06/09

Application date - 15/06/09

Online assessment - 19/06/09

Invitation to interview - 03/07/09 (Friday at 4:40pm)

Date of Interview - 06/07/09 (Monday! not much time to prepare)

Success letter received - 12/08/09 (5 weeks and 2 days post interview) No mention of a waiting list.

Call Newcastle for an update - 24/08/09, find out i'm #45 out of 150 on the merit list, employment checks are back, waiting on CRB

02/09/09 - Find out on here that people are getting posted for this IRC, even though they are further down the merit list so call Newcastle to chase it up.

07/09/09 - call again for an update, find out that the original CRB had been sent out by Disclosure Scotland, but DWP had not received it, sent info to DS again.

10/09/09 - I receive CRB with comp slip from DWP. The CRB cert is dated 22/07/09!!!

I was told once the CRB check came back, my details would be passed on to Business Services and they would give me 'the call' in due course...... the waiting continues........................ :rotfl:

Hi everyone
I have wrote just last week about the IRC 60076 interview in Birmingham, i was a bit concerned that i hadn`t heard anything!
Since then i have received my CRB check, i have been told my references have been contacted and their reply returned! All this in one week after months of waiting......but tonight at 7.30pm i had a call asking if i was able to take a pre employment health check phone call. I said yes and iam receiving one tomorrow morning at 8.30am!!!!
Whats all this about, not more obstacles being placed in our way, talk about moving the posts!

nothing to worry about, they are done by Atos healthcare, its just a quick healthscreen, few questions, unless u have serious medical conditions that need to investigated it will take 5 mins, i know this for sure as i worked for Atos a while ago and we used to book the appts with the clinical nurses, so dont worry, hope that helps x

The guy who rang said he worked for DWP in the Sheffield office?????
Does this mean an offer is on the cards, or is that wishful thinking LOL

i wudnt like to say if its definate but all the ones we booked in had either already been offered a place or was about to be offered 1, we even had some that were already working there lol, but i wud think it is a positive sign :j

A quick update on irc 60375. Just called Disclosure scotland and learnt that my application was received from the DWP last wk, 2nd sept.Everything seems to be alrite the lady said. The certificate should be posted back to the DWP nextweek.

Am just keeping my fingers crossed till the end of the month. I hope to get the call then or just after. Been out of a job since feb 09 when i was supposed to get back to work after maternity. earned money last in Dec 07, with 2kids, thats been a lllllllllllllooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggggggggg ttttttttiiiiiiiiimmmmmmmmmmeeeee
