DWP employment waiting list

  • Hi,

    Re: IRC61099

I have posted once before so show my experience so far (which is not too bad to be fair to the DWP).

The latest update I have on this it that I am in the top ten of 188 in the merit list for these posts and the provisional date to open this post was the 7th September. The guy at Newcastle I spoke to on the phone was the only person who truly helped me as the other 6 or seven people I had spoken to had given me very limited/standard responses.
The guy told me that it is the local business area that appoint you to one of the three nearest JC+ offices to your postal code. He said this obviously depends on how many EO roles are required at your local offices.

I am praying that the Wirral JC+ centres need plenty of EO staff personally!!!

I have tried to call on several occasions today only for the phone to ring out for a few minutes and then go dead!!!

The helpful guy last week said this is only a provisional date and it could obviously move but I think we are getting closer.

I went for interview in Warrington on the 31st July but somebody I know went to the Holiday Inn (Liverpool Lime Street) the week before and told me that hundreds also had interviews there in that week. I wish my interview had been in Liverpool as it is only a short bus ride through the Tunnel instead of Warrington!!!

Anyway if anyone gets an update on IRC61099 then please update the thread. I do genuinely think people nearer the top of this Merit list will be have a September start date.

    :D
  • hi i called yesterday about irc60535, also after ringing many times i was told they had my crb check and are now waiting for my references. my current employer has not yet recieved this so another waiting game it seems.
Also i have recieved my crb check yesterday, am i supposed to send this back to them?
    Thanks
  • thanks to all the info i have received on here i finally feel like i am getting somewhere. phoned newcastle yesterday who informed me that my crb had still not come back and that they were not allowed to chase it up. got the scotland number from nice person on here and called them. they told me crb was sent to dwp on monday so hoping things will start moving now. thanks everyone.
  • Hello all. Just joined the site. I'm wondering, has anyone heard anything about IRC62478? You all seem to be seasoned veterans in here, so as this is the first time I've applied to the DWP, thought I'd get some help.
How will i know if i've even passed the application form competency Q's stage?
  • i never found out what my test scores were.did test on line but could never access results. only way i knew i had passed was when igot call asking me to go for interview.
  • congrats, venus in furs,at looooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggggggg last.patience pays after all.
  • I too have been jumping everytime I hear the letterbox But I got a number for someone who is dealing with the CRB side of things for my district (Cardiff) and he said they recieved the CRB on the 23rd August! So not having it at your address doesnt necessarily mean it hasnt been sorted DWP end.

The initial lady I spoke too explained that she can no longer give out information on where people are on the list etc as it was causing so much confusion. THEN she said she would pass my number on to a Rachel who would call me back as she might have some info for me!! ??? That conversation was more confusing than anything! To be fair she sounded stressed saying all the personnel staff have been shifted around so it all sounds like a bit of a palarva.

Oh well. I dont think any of my personal refs have been contacted and I asked for my current employer not to be contacted as they dont know Im looking for other work so I spose I must be more patient really. Not one of my strong points.

    So all in all its:

    CRB
    last 3 years employment
    2 refs

    ??

    Are they the only checks?

Hehe....half a head of hair later and i'm still smiling!!! Lets hope my patience lasts till the final hurdle....the call!!!! Probably will have fussed and panicked myself into an early grave by then!!! :p

  • Haypluz- my crb was dated the 13th of August...a few days after my success letter? Must have taken them 3 weeks to send it back to me!! Do they know some people have patience issues!? Hmph!

I was wondering the same question as you, are those all the checks or do they do any others- credit etc. As i would definitely fail a credit check!! My student days were tough!!

They probably sit in their office each lunchtime reading this forum and then deliberately delay things for eveybody who posts up how frustrated they are.

Or, they are just totally disorganised. You choose.
