DWP employment waiting list

i have phoned up this morning and they said i am 16 on merit list but they are still waiting for my disclosure form from scotland. i had my interview on 01/07/09 so questioned why it was taking so long. she said that they usually back in 20 days but every now and then they seem to get stuck in system and they not allowed to chase them up. does anyone know if i can get in touch with disclosure people and chase it up myself.

Edited to add: I never did find out what position I was at, I'm always so grateful to speak to someone that I completely forget to ask! I assume I'm somewhere reasonably high up on the list to have been placed already. My mum will be very proud.

Yes, the CRB checks seem to come through quicker for those who applied for more than one position. This is the only position I applied for, so would explain why mine are taking longer I guess

As for the position on the merit list i'm just confused.... BullieBaby was further down the list than me but got 'the call' yesterday like you did, i've heard it can be based on location too, but I was told last week by DWP that the higher up the list you are, then priority is given to you with regards to location. However if my checks are delayed, they can't offer me a position yet so I could potentially lose out on my preferred location? If that makes any sense?!

Trying to get through to them now as I type, to see if there is any update....

EDIT: Managed to get through to the person who I spoke to last week, she's going to chase it up for me and give me a ring back.

No calls for us today - I'm wondering whether we missed out on being in the same batch as bullibaby or captaintwitchy because we weren't in.

QUICK UPDATE

spoke to a guy this morning who confirmed they have 309 vacancies, he also said ppl have not been offered waiting lists on these positions as all that were successful are going to be posted somewhere (in theory lol)
they are looking to post ppl quite quickly but it could be sept could be oct or even november if ur low on the list, so there is a glimmer of hope for those who were unsure if they will ever get there, hope that helps xx

My goodness I nearly fell over I finally got through to somebody... called the number on the slip I received with my CRB. Must have called 100+ times. Guess what wrong number.. call another no. and speak to Andrew but he's not back at his desk yet... ARrghh!!

...and as if by magic the postman appears with 2 letters from DWP for me and my wife.

Arghhh - 2 more Disclosure Scotland certificates. That's my fourth and my wife's third. I might start selling these.

Yes you can. Just ring them up and tell them your situation. They will ask you for a ref no., but explain that its through DWP and give them your name.They won't tell you whether or not you passed but they can confirm if they have received it etc. Number is 0870 6096006
