    Hey all,

Tomorrow will be the end of my first week at JC+ and to all those wanting to know it's the best darn start to a job I have ever had!

Everyone is so nice and the diverse range of people working there is immense......so worth the wait.

There is so much info to take in you will be so tired after your first week!

Keep the faith, you'll get there in the end!
    In debt no more!

What they do is sort everyone into a merit list following the interviews. The better your scores, the higher on the list you are.

If they are looking to fill (for example) 25 jobs, then the first 25 people on that list will be the ones they take. The rest go onto a waiting list. If some of the original 25 quit, fail probation, or simply aren't interested in the job anymore when offered they just keep working their way down the list. Other possibilities for waiting list people is if someone who's be employed for a long time quits, or goes to a higher level job, then they'll grab from the wait list.

Thanks for that. I am wondering then if maybe there is another list that I am on. Like they have maybe taken the top however many and I am now on the top 10 of the wait list...or something! My letter didn't mention a waiting list but I am wondering if maybe that is it. Quite a few people from IRC61099 seem to have had their checks all done, and mine haven't even been started so wonder if that is maybe why. Who knows though, eh.

Not sure whether to take the fact they are recruiting for the area again as a good or bad thing. Hopefully it means more chance of a posting in Cheshire.

i am asking for myself and i am male, dont want to turn up looking to out of place so i figured it was best to ask there seems to be a mix of peeps slightly casual and some who are not, wondered if people in diff roles dressed certain ways

I reckon men can get away with a shirt & trousers, I really dont think a suit is necessary. Maybe only on the first day. I got my start date sorted thank god. I start on the 7th sept. So i'll need to sort out my clothing soon too

She was a cow! You can ring up and ask whenever where you are in the list you know! He has his CRB but not his employment.
