    Hi there,
congrats on ur new job.i would like to know what u meant by ''the worst interview ever''

Hi Divinelistic, i meant that is was a bit strained... no rapport between myself and the interviewer.... i'm not sure if i'm not used to the competency based style of interview..... or if the man wasnt a very good interviewer??,, but it felt like getting blood from a stone, there was quite alot of pauses, a few errrrrms ... and i walked out thinking i had blown it!

no one was more surprised than me when i got a letter saying i was successfull....... i had spent so much time trying to improve on my terrible maths skills, and thought that the interview bit was going to be easy!...
it was the other way round! :rotfl:

good luck Jess fingers crossed 4 ya x

Good grief !!! she was in a mood and a half:confused::confused:

Asked where I got her number from, and told her that it was on one of the letters from another exercise !!!!

she says its not her department and would get someone to ring me back from the correct department !!!!

What date was your successful letter? Mine was the 10th August.

I have also tried ringing the number on my letter before (which differs slightly to the one you have) , but there is never any answer:confused:

    Great news :)

I'm a straggler; should have an interview this week for 60369, but not actually been told day and time yet.

60370 doesn't even have a merit list yet, also because they're still interviewing.

Haha ... this is fun. Not. DWP records show I did assessment & interview for 60370, and I should be getting a letter about that position in the next couple of days. Manpower's records say I did interview for 60369, so they can't give me any interview information for it as they think I've done it already.
[...] because they're apparently still not standardised on whether they do the online test or the older sit-down style lit & num tests.
According to Manpower they've dropped the online tests and gone back to the old Lit&Num tests, because the online system was causing problems.

So - all in, from application to starting has taken seven months.

    Do I win a prize???

    Dave :)

Wait until you hear my full story. You might beat me on time, but by golly I've got you beat on being given the run-around!

    Hi

I'm a bit confused about the recruitment for this one as well. I haven't been given a form to fill in to list possible locations and when I asked for one (as other people seem to have been given them) I was told just to wait for them to get in touch.

I found out I am quite high up the list (top ten) but what is confusing is my reference checks don't seem to have been done. So it doesn't seem that can work through them in any set order? When I called I was told it might be another couple of weeks before they do them!?

I also noticed they were advertising for the area again at the moment.

A bit confused by this whole process. Do they only have one list of applicants or do they maybe have a job list and then a waiting list type thing? I'm thinking maybe I am actually just on a waiting list...Don't suppose anyone can shed any light please?

What they do is sort everyone into a merit list following the interviews. The better your scores, the higher on the list you are.

If they are looking to fill (for example) 25 jobs, then the first 25 people on that list will be the ones they take. The rest go onto a waiting list. If some of the original 25 quit, fail probation, or simply aren't interested in the job anymore when offered they just keep working their way down the list. Other possibilities for waiting list people is if someone who's be employed for a long time quits, or goes to a higher level job, then they'll grab from the wait list.
