quick question
I got my letter last week saying successfull and not on waiting list. However, my landline number changed today so the landline number they have for me will be wrong. The mobile number they have will be correct though as will my home address.
Should I phone them to inform them of the change to the landline number? Or do they send a letter anyway to confirm the start date?
Thanks.0 -
Just wanted to let you know that it seems to be going fast for irc 61099 merseyside area.
interview and tests 23rd july
success letter 6th august
Disclosure scotland 19th august
rang to check and all checks cleared today 26th august
they said just waiting now for me to be placed and then will be called. That is fairly fast been told 275 posts and i'm number 80 but I was told at interview they are in desperate need....so maybe thats why things have gone so quick....but not count my chickens until i get the call!
Anyone else had a call yet for 61099?0 -

I have been successful for a position in the Merseyside area, not for 61099 though. I had my interview on the 31st of July, letter 11 Aug. I'm still waiting for my checks to be done. Did you get your disclosure in the post? Could you let us know when you get 'the call' i would like to know if i stand a chance of getting anywhere in the next few months!? Thank you!!! Hope it comes soon for you"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -

Mate if it was me I'd ring them to let them know and put your mind at rest. You know your just gonna wonder and worry they tried the landline as the days go by with no letter.
At least by ringing you've covered all bases.0 -

My boyfriend applied for an AO position and had his interview (i think) the same date as yours, in a hotel in Liverpool city centre.
Do you mind me asking what number you rang to get this info? he keeps getting chased from pillar to post.
And the 275 - do you mean there are 275 posts to be filled? And you're 80th on the list? Is the list based on how well you did in your interview or how quickly your checks are passed do you know?venus_in_furs wrote: »I have been successful for a position in the Merseyside area, not for 61099 though. Hi Cookie,
This is my first post on here.
I am in a similar position to you – waiting for a position in the Wirral area ideally!
I applied for the EO position (IRC61099 - Merseyside and surrounding areas) and after completing lit & num tests in Warrington and filling out various forms I had an interview 90 minutes later on Friday 31st July. A week later I received a success letter dated 06/08/09 (no mention of a waiting list though). A few days after that on 11/08/09 I received my Disclosure Scotland form back from the DWP which was ‘clean’ advising that I needed to keep it for reference. The DS was dated 08/08/09 which tells me that it took six working days to complete my DS since I was interviewed. They obviously knew I had been successful at interview immediately and sent off to complete checks.
After reading this thread I thought that I should ring up Newcastle (17/08/09) to check for an update as I want to start ASAP. I was told to wait another couple of weeks as they were completing ‘background’ checks. I asked for my position and was advised that I am in the top ten!!! This made me happy and thought a call would come with a start date within days… Still waiting though!
I have called since to check that the information they provided was correct and they again advised I was in the top ten on the list and that everyone on the list I was on can assume they will be employed (no waiting list) however they are awaiting the IRC to be ‘opened’ so that start dates can be agreed in each area that needs EO staff. They also advise that the ‘business unit’ have my file now and that they cannot really help! They do not have a contact number for them apparently but told me to wait another two weeks as a call should be coming.
At no time did they tell me how many posts were available under this IRC (I see that you mention 275 roles – They are all EO I presume). They advised that they could not disclose this information but did say I was in the top 10 of ‘a large list’!!!
My experience has been fairly good. I have read many nightmare stories on here though and feel my application is moving quicker than most. My two personal referees’ were also sent forms to complete about me only two weeks after I went for the interview. Pretty good I think considering I had seen over 200 people going for tests and interviews on the assessment day. God only knows how many assessment days they had in Warrington and Liverpool in July.
P.S. I was also told that as I am towards the top of the list I have a greater chance of being located at a local job centre. At interview I was told that the actual role is to see people in JC+ that have been signing on for 3 months. Apparently I would look at there contract they have with the job centre and tweak it to get them back into work sooner for example tell them to look 90 minutes for jobs from their home instead on an hour that they had originally agreed to when they first signed on.
I will let you all know if I get the call. Please do the same if you can.
Cheers,

Thanks for that reply Fcrepe....i'm hoping to be posted warrington/widnes/st helens area...yes they must have interviewed at least 1000 for this post as they must have done 200+ day i was there too and there was a number of days.
Yes timings on my letters are dated very similar to yours....thing is i imagine irregardless of local job centre they will be starting with 'groups' of us maybe 20+ at beginning, hence why they are clearing so many on list, which is a positive.
I did work for dpw 15 years ago as aa and enjoyed it....so looking forward to it. I'll keep you posted and look forward to your posts0 -
Okay, i know i am probably annoying everyone by now by whinging all the time about waiting...patience is not my strong point! Just going to ask if anyone has heard anything from IRC 61139 yet, any disclosures recived? Anything regarding a start date?
I am SO excited about starting and feel like there is bound to be something that will stop/halt me!! Since uni i have had only a few temp jobs and inbetween i was unemployed but sometimes not on jsa. Will this count against me?
Thank youuuu"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -

I'm waiting on 60227. I've been waiting since July (when I had my interview) and I called DWP up today and they're still doing the CRB checks. If I were you, I'd continue to search for other jobs as getting to the pre-recruitment check stage isn't necessarily the end of the line. I spoke to someone (who's working for Working Links now) about them and he said he was on hiatus for a year (!) and eventually they turned him down.
So yeah, while it looks like a good job, it's probably not a good thing to hype it up. :P0
