I'd advise not :p. I've lost track of how many times someone from DWP has promised to call me back. Really easy to remember how many times I have received a callback, though: zero.
she wasn't dealing with my EO post(s) but she still looked them up for me. I guess it's pot luck.

Well I'm eating my words as I type. I have just received a call back, update goes....

I am #45 on the list for IRC60540, my employment checks are back, just waiting on the CRB.
Asked her about start dates, she said they are starting to post people in the next 2 weeks and they tend to do large batches of intakes so quite possibly I could have a start date within September?!
I also asked about locations and she said that will be sorted when I receive 'the call' but priority is given to those higher up the list etc...

Well done. We already have our CRB certificates - in fact we got them before our successful letters came.

Not too long to wait then. Actually, you will probably be in the first intake if you want Kirklees as I bet most people will want Leeds and Bradford.

Hi, can i just ask if you think it is a bad thing that i haven't got my crb checks back yet? I received my success letter over two weeks ago? I got that letter a week after my interview. I also haven't received any literacy and numeracy test certificates (or whatever it is they give you) yet either? Sorry to be repetative, i just get tense waiting for things to happen!

  • I wouldn't worry about it - I got mine 4 weeks after the interviews but it took even longer to get the letter. The CRB checks do take a while and if you got your letter that quickly it is probably just a matter of the timing.

  • Well -- you are very young to have a Velvet Underground moniker. There's something dodgy in there somewhere, even though it is a mighty fine record. ;)

More correctly, it takes the DWP ages to get the checks sent off and then to do what they need to do with them when they come back. The actual check itself takes less than a week currently. The rest of the 4-6 weeks it often takes is DWP being slow.

That's two of us then :D. Though, I have several years more experience than you.

Start at JCP tommorrow, at last, no late nights as yet I have been told. For all of you still waiting don't give up I have waited 4 months and there are still some who were on the waiting list for my irc that haven't got a date yet, they just keep being told they are now top of the list. The next lot have recently been interviewed so they will be lucky to start before xmas.
