  • Has anybody heard anything about start dates yet for the West Yorkshire posts IRC60540?

My wife is number 25 on the list so she is hoping that she is one of the first starters. I am 100 so I guess I will have to wait a while but as there are 150 posts that they allegedly need to fill before the New Year I am hoping it won't be too long.

I am waiting for 60227 too. I got my success letter dated 29/06/09--then nothing! Last week I heard my personal referee has been contacted but still nothing from DWP. I am finding the waiting really difficult.

Really strange how they do the recruitment. If your success letter was dated 29/06/09 which is a day before I even had my interview (30/06/09) and a week before my own success letter (01/07/09), then I dont see why I should have received THE CALL and have a start date of 01/09/09 and you dont....and for the same IRC60227.

    Could be frustrating...dang

The odd days are probably ok - depends where you'll be working / if other people are off.
The 4 weeks over Xmas - massive problem. It's rare to be allowed 4 weeks off at any time, let alone over xmas when many people want/need time off. You also probably won't have enough holiday entitlement to cover this anyway, and may have to ask to take un-paid leave.
You'll need to negotiaite this very carefully to get it approved.

hmmm, I guess you have valid points.

Well, lets see how it goes

Hi Counterfeit, I am also waiting on news for this post (IRC60540) Although I haven't rung them to see what position I am, as the successful letter I received never mentioned a waiting list. Did yours?

No it didn't. The only reason I found out where I was in the merit list was because I got offered another post and further interviews, so I rang to clarfy the position. I didn't want to go for AO interviews and waste everybody's time if I was going to get an EO post.

Ah, i see, thank you. I have just tried ringing the number at the top of my successful letter but there was no answer, will keep trying as it will be useful to know what position I am at.

I will also enquire about start dates too and let you know what they say (if I manage to get through to them!)

Exe 60227 includes all the districts in london. So if there's greater demand in your area ie west district then they fill Those first, Not to mention the merital list..

Cheers. I'm itching to get on with it. I am hoping that as I am immediately available I might jump a few places in the queue.

I'm really hoping to get Leeds or Pudsey as both are really close by and Pudsey even has free parking.

Just contacted newcastle again and found out I'm number 2 on the merit list for 60369!! - no start dates have gone out yet as far as I know and probably wont be anything for at least a week or two(or three:P)since there are still a couple of stragglers being interviewed. Here's hoping...

I'm having trouble getting through, it just keeps ringing and ringing..... ??

I'm also immediately available but i've still to arrange childcare, it would be great if we were given a start date or even a start 'month' so I have something to work around.

Have you had the option of choosing a location yet? I haven't, but really hoping for Kirklees areas... Batley, Dewsbury etc, if not then Leeds would be ok, its just parking, like you say!
