DWP employment waiting list

Just chipping in to add a bit of motivation to those waiting. I've been in my role now as an EO for over a month, and as mentioned before this forum was a useful help throughout the app process.
It's worth waiting for, the working environment is great. The people are excellent. I come back now and again to the forum because reading the posts of others reminds me I was in the same boat not that long ago, not knowing for certain if I had the job - or when I'd start. It's easy to forget that and take things for granted once you've started if you don't make an effort to think about it.
Everyone that's applied remember the motivation and enthusiasm you had when you were told you had passed your interview / or tests etc... G'luck to all that are still waiting!whinge intr.v. whinged, whing·ing, whing·es Chiefly British To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.0 -

Hi Apolonation
You are so right especially about our colleagues in the JCP offices - they are so friendly as soon as you start work. We are extremely busy though so it's very hard work.
Chin up to everyone still waiting! A lot of us on this thread were in your position and it came good for us.

Has anyone been in this situation ......
Received success letters for two positions AO and EO , and after checks accepted the first position offered. Will they terminate the checks and withdraw the other position or still offer it to you and let you decide which position you like? or once you've accepted a position , you cannot change your mind .0 -

I was successful for EO in two areas, AO in another (still waiting on EO in another area), I was offered positions in both EO areas and turned down the second offer after accepting the first. I went on a waiting list for the AO but have recently withdrawn myself from that application.
I'm in training with another EO who has attended another EO interview in an area closer to home after starting training.
I'm sure someone on this thread has also transferred internally after starting.
When I signed off JSA I was told that someone had transferred into the office as an EO after starting elsewhere (in the same area as an AO).
Not sure if this helps!!!0 -

If you don't have a checkable history of employment, they will contact your personal references.
If these checks are completed satisfactorily you can expect an offer of employment, but some areas appear to be trying to start a batch of newcomers together which means until all prospective employees have passed the checks they will not start telephoning candidates and making offers.
My personal advice; if you receive a none 'waiting list' letter, congratulations,, you can expect 'the call' once your checks have been competed successfully; if you receive a 'waiting list' letter, :embarasse keep looking for a suitable job.
Good luck to all those still awaiting the call.
If that is correct then great, I just need to sit by the phone and wait. Which is not a problem for me but...
my wife starts a temp role at the council on Monday and has a 13 week contract. We are both praying that our "call" comes quite late into her contract so she can accept her role with DWP without finishing her temp contract early.
You can bet that in this instance the call comes quite soon.
It's typical I suppose that after 8 months without work she now has job offers and interviews coming at her from all directions.0 -

Please can you please help me with the competencies you used cos i have done two EO interviews wish not successful and i thot i did very well with my examples...am feeling sad right now and will appreciate any assistance.who knows if there is something am not doing.
I really need the professional custmer service and communication competencies.
thanks.
Not sure I can help too much as the examples you use must be specific to you. Just remember that they want to know how you did something and how you influenced events. Your examples might have been Ok and if you used them again another interviewer might score you higher. It is all so judgemental.
Good luck.0
