  • I was under the impression that the scores from the literacy & numeracy tests did not form any part of your final score and that the tests were just to reduce the numbers going on to interview.
So if you passed, you passed - it just meant you wouldn't have to sit the tests again in future applications.
    Can someone clarify please.

Did anyone attend an interview for the above EO post (irc 60227) in the city near ( London liverpool street station ) around the end of July ? If so , have you received any feedback or been offered a position with a start date?

    Any assistance appreciated.
  • Hi

My friend applied for a vacany 61883 EO

I read her competency answers and I thought they were spot on, her work history is also very good. She got a letter yesterday stating that she had been successful at phase one but was now on a 6 month waiting list.

at the end it congratulates her and says they look forward to contacting her in the future????

How bizarre, has anyone else experienced this. What does it mean in real terms?

    Thanks
My posts are my own personal opinion . I would always recommend seeking professional advice.

Yes, you're right. The test scores is not taken into account. If you pass you won't have to take them again for any future applications.

In real terms it means she might have to wait upto 6 months to get the call for the job, don't take it as guaranteed though. Some people on here have waited as little as 1 mont whereas others have waited 4 months, it's all very hit and miss. Things do seem to be speeding up though. Hope this helps.

I applied for IRC61418 Birmingham and Black Country. There was a literacy and numeracy exercise last week. Interviews this coming week. The job had been advertised for a very short time as 'possible' vacancies.

Anyhow, I gleaned from there that the DWP wants to take on 25 000 new staff nationwide by end of September. Apparently the bulk of the Birmingham quota will come from IRC60076. Don't take my word for it though, it's just something I heard from one of the recruitment staff.
hi i went for interview for the same job, have you heard anything yet????

She hasn't even had an interview yet though. Thats why she is so confused, this was just based on the application process.

Oh, in some cases due to the sheer number of applications they have to put candidates on a waiting list. They take the top x candidates and invite them for interview. Those that met the pass mark but arn't in the top x are put onto the waiting list. When there is a business requirement for more staff they will contact those candidates on the waiting list, inviting them for interview rather than advertise the position. I think this is the case, the same thing happened to me for an AA position expect I haven't even received the letter yet.

i recieved my letter on 10th August to say i was successful for IRC60353 AO post subject to pre-recruitment checks. Because ive read comments re waiitng lists etc i called newcastle to clarify. The lady told me that i have a job subject to my crb check, id check etc. I asked about how waiting list works and she asked for the IRC job number. i told her and she said they were giving everyone a post that recieved letter saying they are successful for this particular job.

The case must be that some areas are recruiting for future vacancies, not yet available.

I don't understand what is going on with this 60227. I went for an interview on 25 June in Paddington for this vacancy. I have had a success letter but nothing else since. Have they re advertised the vacancy or perhaps invited more people to interview if they didn't get enough people? I applied in May. Does anybody know anything?
