Hi there and thank you.;)
Yes I think this looks to be the case.
Although they do not actually give the pass mark result, I take it that even though he passed the minimum requirements - anyone else who did have higher than that would be first called to an interview then?
This is what I had thought anyway lol, thank you so much I think this clarifies what happens now.
So hopefully in time or by the 6 months he will hear something.
Fingers crossed.
Why wait 6 months to hear about the possibility of an interview. There's nothing stopping your son from applying to any other positions that may arise in your area. Just keep checking the website.0 -

Hi vincentfan did you call that number you were given about dwp job interview on 14th July?
any useful info?
thanks0 -
attn: tarmis17, mpatel86 and others who might be able to advise.
I've been following this thread ever since applying for an EO position (IRC60227)with the dwp in May 2009. The details are as follows:
applied May 22, 09
online test date: not sure i remember
Interview date: 30 june, 09
checks all clear and crb received (after a lot of chasing up): 4 aug, 09
THE CALL: 10 aug, 09.
Now the only worry I have is that MY CALL, was not the kind of call I had expected. It was not to offer me an EO role like I had applied, but was for a Benefit Delivery Officer position in a location in east london where I live. The lad on the phone said I was being offered that as it would apparently be more convinient for me than a west london position which the IRC60227 was for in the first place.
While I appreciate the close proximity of the new location, I hope I am not being short-changed and that the BDO is not a lower rank/pay job than the EO which I applied and was interviewed for.
I am yet to agree on a start date with them as I have to give some notice to my current employer. They business should be ringing me back this week to agree on a date. I will appreciate if anyone could advice on the similarities/differences in the two posts (Executive Officer and Benefit Delivery Officer). The lad on the phone advised that the salary for the BDO was £23940. Anyone remember what it was for the EO in the advert?
Thanks a lot everyone. I will appreciate urgent responses.

hi
yes i always think that the roles are quite similar pay if not the same.
its usually the admin officer that is the lower grade pay, so how long from interview to recieveing success letter did you have to wait?0 -
Hi, i dont think you are being short changed as i think you will still be an EO on the salary 23940 in the BDO.
As an AO in a BDO is on about 15000
hope this helps!
thanks for the quick reply ER4CH. Do you have any idea what the job description of the BDO typically is? Is it a customer facing position?0 -

Hi everyone, my boyfriend went for his interview and test for an AO position on Mon 3rd August or Fri 31st July ( I think) in Liverpool, he was told within 2 weeks he'll get his letter.
We're both starting to worry a little about the time it's taking! Did anyone else wait this long? Is there a faster way to find out, such as ringing? Surely they must know by now if his letter is due this week?
Thanks,
Joanne.

Hi, I would not worry because I know it seems a long time to you but it really isn't. My interview was on the 23rd of June and I didnt get fumy successfull letter until the 17th of June! Despite being told it would only be 2 weeks.
Ah, he got one through just now!he's been successful
But it does say:
'We are now undertaking pre-recreuitment checks and you will be contacted again once these are complete to confirm whether or not we are able to offer you a post'
What are the pre recruitment checks? Just criminal record etc. and 3 year work history?
And when it says to confirm whether or not we can offer you a post, does it mean there may not be positions avaliable or you might not get a post because you don't pass your checks?
And when do you find out if you pass those checks? And when should you ring up to find what number you ae ont he waiting list?
Thanks,
Joanne.
