Hi All,
I've just found this thread, i wish i had found it earlier, would have made me realise i wasnt alone...was part of the Southend area recruitment drive, and was told in April i had a position, was placed 15th on the list, and should expect my offer letter any day....

Fast forward, CRB check comes and goes....

Phone Newcastle....told Refs are processed by another department...

Wait some more, continue to sign on ( as i was made redundant on Chritmas eve!!)

FINALLY....get a call yesterday...from Basildon JCP, offering me the AO band B position....

I start September 1st!!

Found out today that i am 58th on the waiting list - seems a long way down, forgot to ask how many people on the list or how many being taken on straight away - infact i didnt remember to ask anything else i wanted to know cos I was so surprised they answered the call so quickly on the 1st attempt today after so many attempts yesterday and getting no answer.

Anyways, anyone else on here left that had a similar position to me on the waiting list who can give any possible timescales of being taken on since the success letter.

Hey richyvezy I'm in the same position as you waiting for them to get back to me about the newport job. The number they gave on the leaflet just rings for 6 mins then cuts off. I haven't heard anything either but I guessed as there are 60 positions available, there must have been quite a few people going for it so it might take them longer than the 7 days they promised.

Doesn't help that there is supposed to be a 5 day postal strike and we can't get anyone on the phone really does it.

I had my interview in Leeds on 7th July and am still waiting to hear, was told it would take 2 weeks, emailed them will be more like 4 or 5!

I have applied for 2 more posts since then.waiting to hear on them, although 1 of them a part time evening post has changed fro West yorkshire to Leeds which is no good.

Starting to think not hearing is bad news.

Although I know they take a long time.

Chap I spoke to when I signed on last week, said it took him 3 months from interview to start date. I would be happy for that.

JSA runs out beg Sept.

Would even work at macd`s/KFC but not even heared anything back-too old i guess!

I sat the exams and did the interview which I thought had gone okay on 23rd July in Liverpool. I have since had my test scores and a certificate to say that I passed them both but haven't heard anything else. Has anyone here heard anything of post IRC 61099?

Hi im in a similar position. I had interview for West Yorskhire band c position at Raddison hotel in leeds on 6th July. They tole me 3 weeks until i hear but still waiting........
i also had interview for south yorkshire band c position at hillsborough stadium in sheffield on 16th July. Again was told 3 weeks, still waiting.........
Since then iv also had south yorkshire band b interview again at hillsborough, alos told 3 weeks but still time to hear back from them yet i suppose.

Although reading everyone elses posts it seems youve been waiting much longer than that. Has anyone else heard anything about these jobs yet? isnt it frustarting not knowing?

Good luck to eberyone else waiting and please reply if you attended same location for these interviews...

katie_kt - I went for the same interview as you at the Raddison in Leeds on the 6th July and have still heard absolutely nothing.

I lost my patience a couple of weeks ago and called a number for their Newcastle offices where all of the interview information is supposed to be processed. The number I had was the wrong one for this particular position, but I was later called back by someone linked to the position in some way. She told me that there had been a hold up in proceedings because not all of the online tests had worked, so they were having to hold more interviews. I was also told that those interviews were finishing that week, so we should all hear by the end of the following week. Of course, the following week was last week, and still nothing.

I've just phoned again and spoken to a very confused sounding man who had no clue about any of it. Once again my details have been taken and I'm now awaiting a response.

Months ago I attended and was successful at the interviews for the Admin Officer position. I was told then that I'd be informed of my start date in due course. Three months passed before anything happened, hence my applying for the Executive Officer role. I now have a start date for the lower paid job that I'm no longer particularly interested in, and no clue at all as to what is going on with the other, better job. Frustrated isn't the word for it!

There, I feel better after having a bit of a rant
