    hey,

thanks for your reply, at least i know its not only me!!! ive just read a post from a lady who also applied for these jobs and called last week. she was told letters were going out today to tell us whether we are successful or not so maybe we wil hear back this week.

i cant believe how long it takes to inform us how we done.

at least if you take lower grade job you working for the department and then maybe theres always option of applying for higher grade job internally. id take it!!!!
  • It's exhausting isn't it!

I've got a start date for the lower paid job, so it's still there, and after a year of stressful unemployment I'm relieved to have a safety net. But also after a year of unemployment something a bit higher paid would make a massive difference.

    Fingers crossed, eh?

Hey richyvezy I'm in the same position as you waiting for them to get back to me about the newport job. The number they gave on the leaflet just rings for 6 mins then cuts off. I haven't heard anything either but I guessed as there are 60 positions available, there must have been quite a few people going for it so it might take them longer than the 7 days they promised.

Doesn't help that there is supposed to be a 5 day postal strike and we can't get anyone on the phone really does it.

Trevor, I managed to get through to the right person today on that other number I listed. She said they were still taking in the interview sheets which need to be scored. So with the strike etc it could be a while off before we hear anything.

Who ever here's first post here ;-)

Me and my wife attended those interviews on 7th July and both got unsuccessful letters on 1 August. Therefore, perhaps your delay is a good thing.

Hello people thought id let you know from my experiences with the DWP it is always a waiting game. They always take this long but sooner or later you will get your replies. Be patient and keep contacting them to keep your minds at ease.

Hi im wondering if any body can give me any help please.
I applied for two jobs with the DWP (one in a JCP contact centre fixed term and another in the Pension centre which was advertised as a permenent post).

I got two successful letters with out being put on a waiting list.
Last week on the 5th i got my disclousre scotland for the permenent post, so i thought it would not be much longer until i got the call for this post.

Today i just got "the call" to offer a post starting on the 24th of august for the fixed term post. I havent accepted anything but im ever so confussed!

I know i should be happy but im so confussd, especially as I have just had an offer for another job but pays less and I have just started a saturday and sunday job which I love!

This is very confussing and I wonder if any body can offer me any advice??

    Thanks.
They are probably needing alot of people these days so thats why they are being quick. They have had alot of bad publicity over their recruitment process so thats why they are probably getting their act together. However I think there are seperate departments who deal with each area some take longer than others.

Its sounds like you've got a good chance here take this opportunity don't leave it and regret it later.

I think you should decide which job would be best for you in the long term and would benefit you the most. Congrats and best of luck :-)
  • After waiting 4 months, I finally got 'The Call'. For an AO role in London, although it's not the location I wanted. I'm glad the waiting is over :j
