Hi SAGZ,
Like you I applied to both AO and EO grades and started the AO first. My only advice is that you will be allowed to leave should you get the EO grade and don't bother chasing up the application as it's done when it's done.0 -
It is very rare that the DWP will let you be an EO in the same job centre location as you were an AO. Perhaps something to keep in mind if you get your ideal location.0

Hi Tarja,
That sounds a bit odd from what I've seen as I've met three EO grades who were AO grade in the same jobcentre plus. I've also been told it's fairly commonplace.0 -
Thanks Slowboy I have posted for you to see.
Thanks for helping.0 -

That is interesting. I was told that when AO's are promoted to EO's, the EO's have to take on managerial roles and it causes problems if they the have to manage their former colleagues. I was told that EO to HEO at same office was allowed as managerial role not compromised. Perhaps it varies from area to area.0 -

I think this comment makes sense for those applying internally. I am applying externally, so I am hoping it will be a little different (maybe more along the lines of Chris’s experience)
