My son have now finished his online test today for the AA position, this was emailed to him, he said it was not the literacy or the numeracy tests, it was the one where you read through the paragraphs and you have to tick the essential boxes, he did not go into details with me about this, but I take it there are various tests and if he gets through this one, then he will have to take the above stated tests?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, cheers.

Oh no that's got me a bit worried. My initial interview was for a PA but the letter doesn't mention that, just EO/Band C. I definitely don't want to be a floor manager

Good Luck for 2mra, I had no intention at all to worry you..just thought I should mention it incase anyone is faced with the same situation as I was! Good luck, hope all goes well!

Does anyone know how many my son would need to pass the online test that he completed today?

He said there were 36 questions it was timed at 75 minutes?

He said the interviews for this role he applied for are next weekend, so I imagine he would hear soon enough of the results, as it was completed online I take it he would hear the results by email as well.

    (For AA position)

    Thanks.

I *think* where the online test is used, it is instead of the literacy/numeracy tests. So if he passes I would assume he would be called for interview.

    Thank you so much.;)
Fingers crossed then, he loved it there last time, although he did not have the test for this then, he understands there will be possibly 100's applying for the same position, but will keep trying anyway, thanks again.

If all goes well, your son should get an invitation to attend an interview by phone (from either manpower, or which other company are dealing with his exercise (irc...)) This was the case for myself, and i think many others.

As far as i'm aware the the numeracy & literacy tests are being fazed out, or made obsolete in place of this new online testing system. I could be wrong but i think the new system began in apr/may this year.
  • I agree with Orb, having started two weeks ago as an EO, the training seems to be very well organised in Coventry & Warwickshire and very much along the lines of that in Manchester.

I see thank you very much.;)

So I take it depending on how many have passed this actual test who have applied for the same role, they will not go actually on a pass rate as such, but will go by the highest and take it from there, to narrow it down perhaps for the interview?

    Cheers.

I believe the online tests are the same for AA, AO and EO, having taken it for all three. They are "sift" tests, which sift suitable candidates and dust them into the next stage. I wouldnt worry too much right now. And in the meantime it wouldnt hurt to continue applying for more jobs. Good luck
