Seems as if I was a bit impatient in finally registering as I got my phone call today for AO in Bham & Solihull. I start 10 August and cannot be more pleased!

    Good luck to everyone else.
    And good luck to you:T:T:T

Myself and Landslide Victory did our interviews etc at Madchester City stadium and we didn't get asked for our preferences - however we both seem to have landed on our feet as I've got my local JC which is less than 2 miles away and I think his - if "he" is indeed a "he" - is local too.

Did they just offer you your local office whenthey rang you with the good news and a start date?

I am waiting to here how i did at interview and have not been asked what office I would like. The job advert only gave the county!

Hope it all works well for you, it would be great to walk to walk, you would save money on petrol/parking so could then spend it on a pint.

Yes, 10th August for HEO position in Erdington, Birmingham. You should get your call soon, as I remember you received your success letter etc at roughly the same time as me. They are running behind as usual (although not as slowly as a lot of other areas) I was originally given a provisional start date of mid July.
All the Birmingham and Solihull District HEO's are starting on the same day, 10th August. As District Office is based in Erdington, where you will be working, you could nudge them to arrange a get together for all the new HEO's because it would be nice to meet other new starters.
They were telling me that this is the 1st time they have recruited external HEO's so well done to everyone.

You are starting in Handsworth aren't you? It really is quite an achievement for us externals to have been offered a post at Band D. I'm still amazed I made it! If I do start in Erdington I shall put in the request to meet up with new regional HEOs. However, I have since been offered another HEO position in London and don't know what to do now! I was made up to receive one offer but now I have to choose between two. It's like waiting for a bus with the DWP! :rotfl:Obviously I have to make my mind up very fast and I hate messing people around, I feel guilty now!

I have to manage a team of EOs and report to the Operations manager of the JCP.

Have you applied for Band D as well?

No. I am starting shortly as an EO. I was just wondering what responsibilities the next grade up had to assume. To be honest I haven't seen any HEO posts advertised recently.
