Congratulations,:T was the office your choice or is the office nearby?

It was my 3rd choice from 5 or 6 offices, so not too bad. It's about 45 mins travel each way, which isn't all that bad either.

I just signed off over the phone, and the guy that took all my details was an AO who started 6 weeks ago after an interview in February! :rotfl:

I'm imagining that some of the staff/trainers in the JCs are wondering how a strange number of their new starters all seem to know each other already..... ;)

    Hey Orb

You have been in fine form recently :D:D !!

Myself and Landslide Victory did our interviews etc at Madchester City stadium and we didn't get asked for our preferences - however we both seem to have landed on our feet as I've got my local JC which is less than 2 miles away and I think his - if "he" is indeed a "he" - is local too.

So I can now drive/motorcycle 5 minutes to work. For some extra novely fun I may also try using these things on the end of my legs called "feet" and I am told that if I use them in the correct manner that when "walking" home they will also propel me into this thing called "the pub" where I can imbibe beer and not attract unwanted attention from "the rozzers". I love it when a plan comes together :D

Good for you, wish you success in your post and life
  • Forgot to mention that AO position in the Plymouth area is IRC58718. Does anyone know anything about start dates etc. for these positions?

Me too, I can walk there. And I pass my very favourite pub on the way home. Bonus!

Seems as if I was a bit impatient in finally registering as I got my phone call today for AO in Bham & Solihull. I start 10 August and cannot be more pleased!

    Good luck to everyone else.

    well done!!

I got THE CALL and start Monday 20 July as an EO!:D:j

    Applied: 23 March
    Closing date: 26/7 March
    Interview: 21 April
    Success letter: 15 May
    Start: 20 July

Only 4 months since applying then! <shocking>

It looks like there have been a lot of calls this week and plenty of us starting on Monday.

:beer: feels good eh? Congrats, you've finally graduated from the 'DWP waiting list' thread.

Lucky lucky Orb to get placed so close to home. They used to have a JC in my town, but they closed it down about 3 years ago. I'm surprised they haven't reopened that one and others to deal with the demand instead of this 8-8 opening hours pilot scheme option!
