I rang up and asked for my position on waiting list

When they send you the additonal CRB forms - They do recruitment checks? - On what basis? The references you provided on your application form or do you fill in a references form again?

I phoned up too, but the woman I keep speaking to will not help me. My Newcastle number ends 3435, does yours end differently?

They told me they would contact my previous employer from the details I quoted on the application.

    Congratulations Sue!!!

Well done, Finally you have an offer and rest of us still waiting for crb checks, waiting lists and vacancies to come up!

Lets hope you do a better job now that you will be working for them! :P

Do keep in touch with the forums and let us know how you getting on in the job!

Just 1 thing, When you went for tests and you passed, they gave you your interview date and time and some forms to fill in and bring back to Interview (health declaration, character reference, security checks) etc.....ARE THESE FORMS WHAT EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT? OR DO YOU GET SENT MORE FORMS WHEN THEY NOTIFIY YOU HAVE PASSED INTERVIEW?

PLEASE CLEAR THIS UP? SAME FORMS OR DIFFERENT?

    Best of luck!!

i went for my tests one morning then they wrote to me offering me an interview on a different day, i vaguely remember filling in some forms on the interview day. they wrote to me again to say i passed the interview and enclosed a crb form and a letter to consent to contact my references.

actually i must have started to complete a health questionaire at the interview cos they posted it to me asking me to sign it. none of my letters ever mentioned a waiting list, and 24 days after i sent the crb back i was phoned with a start date

    selection tests -27 jan
    interview -16 feb
informed i was succesful letter recieved 3 march
crb form sent off - 6 march

30th march - phone call today to say all my checks are back and offered me a start date of 12th april ! FINALLY!!!

in a jobcentre very far away from me though with many switches on the tube and long travelling time and much less money thatn i was on in my prvious job but having been out of work for 6 months i couldnt be happier LOL thank god for small mercies, i was beginning to feel like i would be unemployed forever and have certainly had enough of the jobcentre staff at my jobcentre! i vow never to be condesending, patronising, indifferent or uninformative to my clients as they have been with me this past 6 months!!!!

i actually asked for a complaint form after signing on today as i had not been told at my 6 month review id be required to sign on weekly now, with no travel refunds, and was quite shocked when i asked her if my signing on time would be at the same time in 2 weeks or at the usual time (time changed today) and she said it will be 12pm every monday, so i only found out by accident!! could of realy screwed up my money that!

the timeline is for people who have applied near the same time as me to give you a rough idea - they may be calliing you soon too!

    Congratulations!!!!! well done....icon7.gif
  • so it looks like, if your letters do not mention a waiting list then you will get a post once your crb is cleared

if it does mention a waiting list, then you are on a waiting list - cant think people should be on that list for too long though and they should really keep you informed

i have never filled in a particular references form! on the original application i merely listed the last few places i had worked (they didnt even ask for managers name) and they just contacted them theirselves -before i sent my consent in too i might add!!

it wasnt liek other job apps which specifically ask for references..

Tell me about it, it's become an obsession and it saves the pain I've been causing my girlfriends ears when she was getting home from work.

Lol, maybe we should have a separate thread as a support group for OHs. Mine gets a similar ear bending.

  • i think we should also have a support group for those of us who manage to get through this whole process and into a job too!! it has been stressful!

Sue, sorry, I know this is probably buried somewhere within the thread, but were you ever on a waiting list? If so, how long did all the shennanigans take?
