I've just spoken to Newcastle and they're most unhelpful. Apparently if I wish to know where I am on the waiting list I have to write to them? Talk about keep you in the dark. We want to give you a job, oh, no we don't, urm, yes we do, we just don't want to tell you when you start.0

That's extremely annoying for you dr e, and inconsistent, as they told me by phone what number on the list I was. I guess all you can do is write and wait. But I know how you feel.
What area is your application?:idea:0 -
Well I am waiting for them to call me as all my checks etc is done..papers are back.....I am travelling on 1st Apr.....my mobile will be switched off.....knowing before I leave would be so helpful...0

Just a quick question!
I've got to fill in the Character and Criminal Declaration form. At the top of the front cover are 2 blank boxes with a strange black symbol to the left of each box. Underneath are 5 lines running the width of the page all contained within 1 box. What information is required here? The pages are photocopies so I guess some vital information is missing!
I'm guessing forename and surname are required in the top 2 seperate boxes, then address in the 5 lined box below. That would make sense but there's nothing to indicate what information is required!
Anyone help?October Comp Wins -Stella Artois Challice (FB)0 -

Ah, I'm not talking about the Disclosure application form. I mean the stapled bunch of papers entitled "Character and Criminal Record Declaration Form" it's all photocopied.
edit: rang Newcastle up and they said you can put your name and address in if you want, but as it's being sent with the Disclosure Application there's no real need. I said it was a bit strange that there are boxes but no title headings as to what information should be entered, to which he replied "Yes, it is a bit daft".....seems typical of the process so far!October Comp Wins -Stella Artois Challice (FB)0 -

I've applied in the Essex area. Sent a letter already, it's just frustrating knowing that others have been provided with the information and I have to wait for it.
I totally appreciate how busy they are but the lady I spoke to couldn't get off the phone quick enough and kept cutting me short when I would ask a question.0 -
selection tests -27 jan
interview -16 feb
informed i was succesful letter recieved 3 march
crb form sent off - 6 march
30th march - phone call today to say all my checks are back and offered me a start date of 12th april ! FINALLY!!!
in a jobcentre very far away from me though with many switches on the tube and long travelling time and much less money thatn i was on in my prvious job but having been out of work for 6 months i couldnt be happier LOL thank god for small mercies, i was beginning to feel like i would be unemployed forever and have certainly had enough of the jobcentre staff at my jobcentre! i vow never to be condesending, patronising, indifferent or uninformative to my clients as they have been with me this past 6 months!!!!
i actually asked for a complaint form after signing on today as i had not been told at my 6 month review id be required to sign on weekly now, with no travel refunds, and was quite shocked when i asked her if my signing on time would be at the same time in 2 weeks or at the usual time (time changed today) and she said it will be 12pm every monday, so i only found out by accident!! could of realy screwed up my money that!
the timeline is for people who have applied near the same time as me to give you a rough idea - they may be calliing you soon too!0 -
