Please forgive me if you already know this but there are the recruitment teams and the reference/checking teams. The applications are passed to the checking teams to undertake taking up the references/Disclosure Scotland etc. So if you spoke to the recruitment team about whether they had received your disclosure they probably would not know because it would be the checking team that would or would not know. I hope that makes sense but probably not.

I do know that now :) Thank you.

I did call me recruitment team leader and she passed my name onto the people doing the checks/disclosure Scotland on Tuesday. I called her today and she said that they havent got back to her.

Wishing everyone luck, I think like me they need it.

Has anyone actually started work in Cambridge area (ao work)? I am on the waiting list but my letter said that they would be starting pre-recruitment checks, i rang to clarify this and the lady said that they must be expecting to be using people from the waiting list soon.

Thank you! Its such a relief after 5 months of not working. Im pretty sure you will hear very soon - sounds like they are just offering places now whilst the checks are ongoing so that they dont fall so much behind. Fingers crossed you hear soon! x:D

Congratulations. :) I hope you have a nice time on your training. Glad things have worked out for you.

What position did you apply for if you dont mind me asking?

EO. Im interested to find out exactly what I will be doing. I also asked the salary - she seemed surprised because she said it was on the original advert, but as it was a salary bracket I wasnt sure. If anyone is wondering, you start on the lowest that is advertised (well at least she made it sound as if that was a given)...I wasnt sure if they might put you on a higher pay grade according to your test results/capabilities proven at inteview. But thats not the case. Not that i mind at this stage! x

    OH MY GOD!!!!!

Just got "the call" - said that they can offer me a position STARTING MONDAY at the jobcentre which is literally a 5 minute walk frm me!!!!! Fantastic news. She said that all my refs have been checked, but that they hadnt done my DS form yet so its pending that but obviously i know that will all be fine. She said if it isnt, then my contract will be terminated.

Im SO pleased!!! They also said that id be sent on a training course in Slough and would that be a problem - I said no because my partner lives in Slough (hes trying to move down here but we were waiting for me to get my job offer) and it would mean seeing him for a week.
God im pleased! good luck everyone, hope you all hear soon!!! xx:)
:T Well done & good luck. Sounds like a better way of dealing with the process. My local council sometimes fast track people into positions that they need to fill, on the understanding that should anything come to light that is unfavourable, then the contract is terminated, which is fine. At least you can be working while these checks are taking place. Hope you have a ball:eek:

Hi-I had AO interview in Peterborough on 29 April and had success letter dated 16 May. Starting pre recruitment checks. My preferred locations are, Cambridge, Peterborough, Newmarket & Huntingdon. Other than the success letter, I have heard nothing.:rotfl:

I'm West Midlands too - Staffordshire. I didn't get a phone call though.
Having read all the stories on here I was going to wait a couple of weeks before I rang them for further info.

I think I got the phone call because I applied for all the HEO vacancies across the West Midlands (Birmingham, The Black Country, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Herefordshire). The lady I spoke to was very confused because I had ticked the box stating that I would work at any job centre within any of these areas! Apparently it has never happened before that someone doesn't have a preference.

It's good news for us though, as I actually received the call before I was notified of success at interview. The lady said that she was starting to process the paperwork etc hence the call. Therefore if they were starting the admin process before the successful candidates were decided, maybe they are going slightly faster with the pre-recruitment checks than with other vacancies.

Do you remember which job centres were on the Staffordshire preference list? I'm trying to do some research on the areas where hopefully (pending checks) I'll be working. Sorry to seem ignorant, but I'm not actually from the West Midlands and applied there due to lack of job prospects where I am.

I received a call on Tuesday asking me to start in Southampton next Monday. I also asked the salary and received the same answer... I explained that it would need to be higher in the range as fuel costs alone would come to £2500 pa. They called later to say they couldn't up the salary but would start me at Gosport instead as that's just a few miles away. Job done.

Maybe I'll see you on one of the training things...

    Thanks. That's reassuring.

    The Staffordshire job centres are
    Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent
    Kidsgrove, Stoke-on-Trent
    Longton, Stoke-on-Trent,
    Stafford
    Cannock
    Newcastle-under-Lyme
    Tamworth (I think)

Do you know much about the HEO role?
